along with Robinson were very good.
I beg to differ. I think Rashard was terrible all year. He got by on reputation and his physical skills, but for the time he was on the field, he was not very good.

Les Miles stopped controlling the defense and turned his attention to sabotaging quarterback development

91 got mildly better, but was still far less than typical for an LSU interior DT
91 is a stud! WTF have you been watching? Lacouture is as good as Bennie Logan was at this point in his career. The only recent guy (last 5 years) I'd take over Lacouture is the great Mike Brockers.

Getting that white guy at MLB out of there was the key. Beck became a man in the middle.

Shoring up the DT position by getting Quentin Thomas back from injury and the young guys along the line gaining experience.
The staff did very little to the DT's. Beckwith made them look much better by giving them a lot more support. Adams was the number two improvement. He is extremely good in run defense and added to that support of the DL. These two changes allowed each person on the defense play assignment football in stead of having to make up for weaknesses of others.
I am not saying this as a knock on the DL at all. When you have people like KB, JA, and also JMills cutting runners down near the line and everyone is not chasing RB's down from behind then it looks like we made wholesale changes on the line. These guys all played together and covered each others asses.

The same guys show up every week, nearly despite injuries, it's the gameplans that change. Coaches get paid to prepare the same players week in and week out and when team A beats the crap out of team B and B beats C and C beats A then it's ALL COACHING GAMEPLANS, unless a stomach virus is going around.

quote:What an assnine thing to say. So according to you, Miles was running the defense the first 4 or 5 games of the year and left the offense to Cameron. Then he swapped roles and got involved with the offense and left the defense to Chavis. You should set up a meeting with Alleva and inform him of what you have discovered. Maybe they will make you the head coach and we can start winning all those championships that Miles has failed to win.

Our defense had a huge gaping hole all the way up the middle from the front to the back the first several games of the season. This gaping hole was shut due to:
Godchaux and LaCouture establishing themselves on the front lines.
Beckwith shoring up the middle.
Adams stepping up on the back end.
These guys were the key players that stepped up to make the defense what it is. The other guys (Hunter, Rasco, Alexander, Martin, White, Collins, Mills) played their roles well. They were solid all year long. But those first four that I mentioned were the keys to making this a very good defense.
