The SECOND Interception at Ole' Miss: Something about it IRKS me

From the TV I am assuming it looked really bad. I am irked because I was sitting right next to the INT and just happened to be watching that safety the entire play as it unfolded.

Here is what I saw: Once the ball was hiked, the safety ran STRAIGHT to that specific area of the endzone, faced Mett, and STOOD there with his hands up ready to catch the ball. No hesitation. No flinching. Then Mett throws it RIGHT to him.

It was like Ole' Miss knew that play by heart and knew EXACTLY how it would unfold and we were caught with our pants down.

Did anyone else see this?

we both know that Les Miles gets outcoached quite a bit. Once again, it caught up to LSU and we didn't luck into a win this time.

Mett had a bad game. He will be better the rest of the year

We almost did, TWICE.

That game was much worse than a three point loss. We could have easily lost by three touchdowns had Ole' Miss not tightened up a few times.

1st Drive
The muffed punt
The blocked field goal drive

I agree. He was just waiting there.

Does Cam get all of the credit and none of the blame?

This isn't really a complaint about Mett. It's a question of how predictable our scheme might be.

Ole' Miss' defense was NOT good.

Our offense was BAD. We are only averaging 20 ppg in the last two games...if the offense gets predictable again ala the LAST 5 YEARS, we are done...done.

We are already done. Another shitty bowl where we will look like crap and probably lose.

Yeah I think it was just good scouting and Mett lost track of the safety on the play action. So frustrating...

Quite a bit? Please! More like each and every time. Every team that LSU played has out scouted Les. Just another of Les's many failures which are so brilliantly pointed out by all of you Barcolounger football experts.

True dat. Every time LSU wins it's just a matter of good luck. Never and I do mean NEVER has Les done his job and prepared LSU for a game. We need to fire him.

And Javi too for good measure.

How can a professional OC be out coached by a guy named hugh frieze?

I mean seriously?

Mett just didn't look guys off with his eyes.

He threw into double coverage

That's a QB issue not a coaching issue

It didn't look like that on TV. One of these days they will broadcast a top down view on an alternate channel for games. Then the average viewer could see the work put in in the secondary. I am sure the coaches would love the armchair QB'ing then.

And prepared the team well based on those reports. ~~ I wonder why LSU doesn't do that?

And just a thought, but the play was almost identical to the first interception. Or at least it was just as bad.

Ole' Miss' defense was ready bro. I don't know what else to tell you. The offensive scheme was vanilla. It was like there was no extensive preparation because everyone thought Ole Miss was banged up on defense.

Someone needs to check Mett's bank account. He may have thrown the game instead of TD's.

It was just one of those moments where I just happened to be looking at the right guy from the right angle. I guess I would be more frustrated if that happened to me more often

Mett went full JJ and stared down OBJ, Landry was wide open on that play

So you say that based on personnel, formation, and tendencies the opposing player was somewhat prepared?

no way, no way.

It would almost be like an opposing team studied film on us.
