stay at my house and not get wet, have access to beer, and see the game in HD
OR
sit in the rain for 4 hours
I did the latter, and I had a good time last night
but I can see how a lot of people just aren't die hard fans to sit through the rain

quote:Not trying to be an arse but thats where you are wrong. Crowds leaving early? No. that never happens at Auburn and Bama games. I know cause I'm fron Bama and went to school at Auburn. But I'm a diehard LSU fan thru and thru and I'm embarrassed by those empty seats on national television.
t's no different at UGA, Bama, or any where else.

from 2001-present... people have always left early
2001-2007 end of the season. The atmosphere was amazing and the crowd drunk and fun. Other than the big games Bama or Texas A&M the crowd will suck and be quiet most of the game and leave early.

excuses. Had it not rained the crowd still would have been terrible and left early. Maybe not halftime early but end of 3rd quarter early.

SEC opener against division rival at home AT NIGHT?
it would have been much more packed
at kickoff last night, the stadium was probably 60% full
the rain played a HUGE part in that.

Does anyone actually walk into TS, survey the crowd, and think to themselves "my what a bunch of bluebloods"
If so you & I must have seats in very different sections

it was the weather and the fact that we were playing auburn who was 0-8 in the SEC last year.

Great revelation ,this has been beaten to death. Why do so many care who goes and how long they stay....

The point is sorely missed. The size of Tiger Stadium has nothing to do with "fans" leaving at halftime or mid-third quarter or any other early exit. It's a growing phenomenon each season.
I can't blame this on kickoff time, as that varies from game to game. Weather isn't the issue either except for some folks last night. We've been winning for years, so that's not it.
I believe it a combination of a number of the following factors:
1) Less seats available for students (smaller student section)
2) The overall cost to purchase season tickets has eliminated the typical middle class fan and family in favor of corporate/company purchases
3) Parking and traffic issues around the campus
4) Fair weather fans
5) Apathetic ticket holders
6) A different generation from "the good old days"

I agree with you, but it was BAD last night. We all knew what the weather situation was, so come prepared for water. I don't usually bitch about people leaving early or even no showing, but when its 50% of the fans or more, it's bad. And there's always an excuse which is pathetic.
I don't care about any reasons other than the team/defense really depends on the crowd at times to make the game difficult for the tiger bait. They also need the emotional lift when the game gets late. There was an obvious difference in the play from 1st half to second half, and I contend that the second half morgue had a lot to do with it.

There was a LARGE block of unused seats under the scoreboard the entire game.

anyone can find tickets on campus the day of
ESPECIALLY for the cupcake games
the only game i've ever paid more than face was bama last year
why pay for season tickets when I can pay for 2-3 good games each year and save a shite ton?
sorry, towson, idaho state, northwestern state, kent state, north texas...?? not worth hundreds of dollars per game with TAF fees etc
garbage games and low entertainment
the market dictates that A&M and Bama will be the most expensive tickets this year. Does this not make sense to anyone?

the people complaining about the attendance are usually the ones watching it at home on their HD tv's

bandwagon fans. I don't care how bad auburn is we hate them and people should want to destroy them each time we play.

I was there. I'm complaining about the crowd noise and boredom of the new fans at the games.

I believe 3-6 is the bulk of the reasons

So was I. Until the end. "Greatest fans in the world?" Please

to all the fans who say that we have a crowd issue do you notice the last two years have been the two HIGHEST years of attendance in LSU history. So if LSU fans are so bad and so horrible why are we bringing into so many fans in the stadium
