The plan A / plan b leaks by the board of supervisors members and others fouled up the Miles coup at LSU.

This isn't going to go over well

(it’s pretty incompetent to even consider firing a national championship-winning coach who had his team ranked #2 overall, put up a 8-3 season despite substantial adversity, and has the top-ranked recruiting class coming in)

"Coup?"
The AD and President, LIKELY, killed a deal for a new coach and buyout of the old. It would be quite difficult for the university president to go before a special session of the state legislature asking for help, as the flagship university is about to go under, while at the same time buying out one coach for $15,000,000 and bringing in another for +/- $6,000,000 per year.
I don't particularly like leftish academics (being a quasi-academic myself) but this one got it right in the grand scheme of the university's TOTAL well-being.

Other than one happened and the other did not, the main difference was that LSU was not willing to let Miles go without having a replacement on board while Georgia was. This assumes that the deal was scuttled because Jimbo or whomever LSU was pursuing backed out and that Georgia had not locked down Kirby Smart before letting Richt go.

Jimbo Fisher ain't worth $7 mill/year anyways.

Adversity? What adversity? Overcoming an undiagnosed case of Ausbergers?

One has won a national championship and played in another (2 appearances), and the other hasn't?

PRIVATE money was going to do this.

Do you even SEC West, bro?
Probably the most stacked division in college football.

- The National Championship was 8 years ago. Ancient history in the sports world.
- The no. 2 ranking was a fraud, as many of us knew. Our early schedule was very weak, and we played the stronger teams in November and got destroyed by those teams.
- What "adversity"??? We didn't have any massive injury problems or other problems.

Right. But many people do not understand the TAF/Athletic Dept. interplay. The issue, if there was one, was not the source of the funds but the way the public might view it, including the perception that the $15 mil could have gone to the university rather than the buyout. Politics, basically.

but we're not even competitive with the stronger teams. We got DESTROYED by Bama, Arky, and Ole Miss. DESTROYED.

Yea, so stacked we get beat by 14 plus three in a row. For a second there I thought we were just mediocre but it turns out we aren't, the other teams are just better than us. You're right I don't know why I question our glorious leader.
