Generally, yes. But it's not fun watching the Tigers struggle against teams they should demolish and keeping games close because of poor discipline and coaching decisions.

Agreed, however, every non-SEC P5 game should look more like last Saturday, where more players across the board get opportunities to play and gain experience. That has been the key to the surviving November and it is where LSU has fallen short. They have virtually stopped down line development because these games became such a struggle.

For Harris and Jennings (before him) to struggle against inferior teams, it has cost the entire team development. Without a comfortable lead, the defense tends to keep their first-team in longer to help secure the win. It is important early in the season to create opportunities for all the players and it starts with getting up on the opponent to provide the opportunity to create depth and develop players for the second half of the season and beyond.

Well our time of possession hasn't been good so that kind of puts a wrench in the numbers

I think confidence is a yuge factor. The OC needs to have confidence in the OL & QB and vise versa. As that confidence grows, I think you'll see the Tigers speed things up SOME WHAT.

IMHO,
We'll never see Houston style football with this staff or in the SEC if you want to win this conference in it's present form.

I'm a fan of in your face smash mouth football.

Winning is fun

If LSU was competing for SEC titles every year, nobody would be complaining that it isn't fun. Winning trumps and cures all.

Les needs to take a page from Steve Spurrier's coaching handbook - when (or "if" in Les' case) you get comfortably ahead, put in the next quarterback and LET HIM RUN THE OFFENSE and do more than hand off in mop up duty. Put in the third guy to do the same if the opportunity arises.

Are you idiots doing this after every Houston game? THIS DUDE IS NOT COMIN TO LSU

If Oklahoma keeps throwing hissy fits and actually does stop the Big 12 from inviting Houston, he's definitely a possibility.

Hell, I've heard fans say Herman will be here no matter what because LSU will "get whoever we want to replace Miles".

I'm just waiting for Miles to start punting on 3rd down now.

That would work except our punting over the last few years has been Ausie! Ausie! Ausie! Shank! Shank! Shank!

I don't imagine the 4 Texas schools are all that fired up about adding another one as well, giving the biggest university in the biggest city in the state P5 status. I honestly don't see how adding Houston helps anybody but Houston. We'll see.

As far as the LSU job, it will come down to timing like they always do. Didn't he turn down USC last year? Clearly, he's not looking to bounce unless it's the right fit at the right time. But all these folks who think we'll just snap our fingers and get who we want when we want, have not followed college football coaching searches the last 20 years. Timing is everything.

This is the thing people don't understand about that situation. Houston is a sleeping giant. That metro area has exploded since they were in the SWC. When, and make no mistake it will happen at some point, they make the move to a P5 they are going to become a powerhouse.

Every advantage LSU has with recruiting the state of LA, Houston will have within a single city.

You frickers are pathetic. If you're so unhappy watching the tigers play, turn off the fricking tv, go buy yourselves a shiny new Houston jersey and start calling yourself a Houston fan. For God's sake, quit watching and bitching about something that makes you so unhappy. Goddammit y'all must be miserable fricks to live with...

It would be awesome if Herman came here but highly unlikely but who knows. Crazier things have happened

I swear we have the biggest bunch of chicken littles in our fanbase. Why wouldn't Herman come to LSU??? It was discussed even yesterday on XM radio would be a better job than Texas in today's CFB.

1) Texas now has to compete with TCU, aTm, OU, LSU and etc for in state talent. Texas isn't what it used to be in recruiting.

2) LSU has the whole state of Louisiana to pick from them it goes in to Texas and gets its fair share. Under a guy like Herman, it would have even more success because his offense is far more productive.

If LSU got back to what it was between 2003 and 2011, we would lock up La and have whatever we want in Texas. Far easier recruiting.

I get excited and happy with a W. I don't give a damn how many plays are run or points scored. It makes ZERO difference if it's 68-0 or 3-2. The W is all that matters.

BS.

Of course, winning is the object, but very few fans would honestly enjoy watching an entire season of 3-2 victories. Yes, we'd be very happy at 12-0, but you do realize that football (and all sports) is supposed to be entertaining and enjoyable to watch.

When a game or a team plays a slow and sluggish type of game (whatever sport it is), it's no fun to watch and our enjoyment is less.
