don't give a damn how many plays are run or points scored. It makes ZERO difference if it's 68-0 or 3-2. The W is all that matters.

LSU isn't winning all its games and the playoff committee does look at how a team plays. The "eyeball test" is what got Bama a rematch in 2011.

The school itself has more of a commuter school feel to it, like UNO on a much bigger scale.

This really cannot be said enough and it is the biggest issue with UH's bid for a P5 IMO. The commuter status and the TV market already being dominated by the most realistic conferences will keep UH out of a P5 for the time being.

It's frustrating to consider how many great athletes we have and for the most part they don't get a chance to show it on the field (and I'm thinking WRs and TEs here).

But I really don't care how many plays/game we run compared to others or what style we play or if it's "boring" . . . IF, we competing for and winning championships. But now, we don't even sniff Atlanta.

And that's what really gives me the sads.

I am first and foremost an LSU fan. I don't care how we win the games so long as we win. I do not pretend to know any more about football than I do unlike you nuts. Then again you did Coach a peewee football team didn't you?

Not from the playoffs committee.
That "EYEBALL TEST" came from voters that left Oklahoma state completely OFF of ballots or put them below the top 20 to skew the vote and thus assure bama getting the mulligan.
Now, the eyes watching are not talking heads with an agenda.

It doesn't take a lot of football prowess to prefer good football over bad football.

Not an apt comparison at all.

Yeah it is. It's a perfect analogy. You are just one of those people who will fight to the death than just either shut up or admit he's wrong.

Yea, winning every game should be enjoyable to any fan.

Well yeah, no shite. You completely missed the point though.

One of Bama's best teams ever we should have destroyed at home?
Trade the field goals for TD's, and would probably have driven down the field one more time in regulation (take away the OT field goal).

quote:

Not seeing the relevance there. Did someone say that style of playing would beat Bama twice?

The relevance is that Bama would not have gotten a rematch if LSU beat them by more than 3 points in OT with a 9-6 score. For somebody who pretends to be so smart, you sure are slow when it comes to following along in a football discussion. Unless you're just trying to be dense on purpose.

Nearly identical ratios. We just need to actually complete those passes or convert for first downs so we can hold onto the ball a little longer to get the play count up. This also falls on the defense to get the O back on the field.

We've been running the Miles offense in a different variation with OCs right? My question is this, why has he not changed his offense if his QBs can not operate it? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that maybe we should run a player friendly offense.

All you guys crowing over a pro style offense when just about any jackleg can run spread and be really successful on offense. I saw successful pro style from UGA for years, Harbaugh runs a successful pro style, Bama's is successful, Jimbo has a yearly successful pro style, Petrino with Arkansas, and Michigan State with Dantonio, but Miles can't run it and he is poor at evaluating QBs for it. So why hasn't it been changed to spread?

We have people that would rather do it their way than the way that would be more efficent. We have the talent for an insane spread offense whether it be power spread, air raid, or whatever spread that Briles disciples and Chip Kelly disciples run. We've been wasting talent for years now.
