Those of us fans and season ticket holders knew Les was a step down from Saban when he coached his first game at ASU. The team played like Les, not like Saban. Undisciplined, unorganized, penalties, plays called in late, etc. But, Les had a fire, an ambition, an intensity to win. And win he did for several years.

What we knew about the man, the rest of the country and press saw first hand on 1/9. Since then, Miles has been in a downward spiral due to stubbornness and lack of ability to change, recruit/develop OL, DL and QB.

Any college football fan can see this. How long will it take for the LSU Administration to see that Miles changed on 1/10/12?

This would make sense if we didn't have a REALLY good offense in 2013.

Remind me again, what Championship did we win in 2013? He lucked into a good QB and still couldn't win anything.

5th in scoring and 6th in yards per game in the SEC in 2013. Some individuals had incredible years, but as a whole we were towards the middle in the conference.

LSU needs to just move on from Les Miles and nothing in the past has anything to do with it. His time is simply up and he needs to retire. He's lazy and uninspired at his age.

Time for the mother frickn Herman TRAIN!!! Go get this man, he's not going to Texas and would jump on 4 mill a year at LSU! The recruiting Meca!!

That really good offense was still only 5th or 6th in the SEC. And it had two ridiculous WR that bailed out the poor passing scheme with acrobatic catches.

There's a reason the "throw it up to the covered outside guy" is our staple pass pattern - we just hope for a brilliant individual play.

We still have yet to have a successful offense with a QB Miles recruited.

who cares? you are trying to pinpoint a moment of change when it doesn't matter if you are right or not.

the fact is, we did recruit like hell on the OL and DL. both of those coaches (stud and brick) are now gone. I don't even know the truth on the qb situation but it appears that we have just selected less than average qb's and they are not capable of running a pro style offense at a high level (for whatever reasons).

we have no other offense to go to. our OC and or HC do not know any other offense and so that's the one they play. they call "change" running the RB on a wheel route or faking an end around.

with a stellar OL and DL this team would be a competitor, esp if they were more deceptive on their play calling. but, for whatever reason, they are not; what you see is what you get. we just are not good enough to play that way. but it's all our offensive "brain trust" know.

OL and DL... Is this just poor coaching, prep? Or bad player eval and recruiting?

Sabah knew years ago that to win the west, you have to beat LSU. So he changed his plan to recruit to beat LSU. What did Miles do? He was the nail...

7th nationally in yards/play. That offense was really good. Hard to marginalize it.

So let's base our support for this incompetent coaching staff on a year that was clearly an outlier and even in that year we won exactly jack shite.

I was reading an article this morning that mentioned that there were at least 'wrinkles' added, and two of the examples were the wheel to Fournette and throwing to the tight end.

Two bog-standard, basic plays are considered a 'wrinkle' in our offense now.
