re: Least disliked team from the other side? - droliver
We have matured beyond hate as it just distracts from winning national championships. We now just pity you :doublebird:...

re: Program Killing Games In SEC History? - droliver
There's a few games as an Alabama fan that stand out 1993 Sugar Bowl - this was the game that broke Miami's aura of their legendary run. Just a complete beat down physically representing Old School (Stallings) taking out New School. 1989. Iron Bowl - the first game in Auburn, this was the prec...

re: Hit on Kelly vs Hurts - droliver
The hit on Hurts was, by definition, a targeting foul. The hit on Kelly was legal, but should be legislated out of the game as its dangerous to allow these guys to come flying in to "blow up" a ball carrier rather then make a true tackle. ...

re: The targeting quandry - droliver
I think a better compromise would be an ejection for 2 personal fouls (late hit, targeting, unnecessary roughness) of any sort then an automatic ejection...

re: Fumble return by Ole Miss in Bama game - Gary Danielson - droliver
I wasn't upset with the blocking penalty as it was so far off the play. That WAS absolutely a H2H hit though with the player leading with the crown. Should have been called all day long....

re: How credible are the "Petrino to Auburn" rumors? - droliver
Louisville is objectively a better job then Auburn right now since it was admitted to the ACC. He's essentially paid SEC money in a conference he doesn't have to play Alabama, et al. annually to have a sniff at the playoff. He's also king of the state in football and is able to live in a fantast...

re: QB transfer rumor - droliver
He would probably stay this year as I think he's on pace to graduate next summer and could transfer without penalty and 2 years to play. That's the new trend with the hot shot QB's coming out of high school. They hedge their bets by graduating HS early and starting school in the Spring with the idea...

re: Hypothetical Future SEC Sporting Events - New Sports to consider. - droliver
Men's Lacrosse. Atlanta is already one of the hotbeds nationally at the youth and professional levels for the sport and it's popular in FL, TN, TX, and AL at the high school level. The SEC would compete with the ACC for ownership the sport in a decade if they add it as a varsity sport....

I think they get a 4 game suspension even if this is pleaded down from felony charges. If it was me, they'd be dismissed from the team THE END....

re: 2011 LSU 4th greatest defense of the past 10 years (2012 UF #3).. - droliver
2011 LSU no worse the 3rd of last 20 years to me. 1992 Alabama was arguably the greatest of the modern era before the BCS...

re: Memphis, New Orleans also bid for SEC Baseball - droliver
AS travel by air is prohibitively expensive for this tournament, Birmingham/Hoover makes the most sense for fans driving to the game for the most teams in the conference as it's less then a 3 hour drive from Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Oxford, Starkville, Athens, Nashville, & Knoxville. The only other re...

re: Why is Alabama afraid to play UAB in basketball? - droliver
What a ridiculous argument. How much do you think we would pay UAB to play us? I'd wager it would be less than $750k. UAB would make over a million by travelling OOS to play someone.
I can tell you don't run a business. A) whatever we pay UAB it's essentially a net zero intr...

re: Why is Alabama afraid to play UAB in basketball? - droliver
They needed us and we didn't need them.
There is no us and them, both schools are part of the same system. It's incredibly retarded to take this posture towards playing UAB as they're a natural rival in many sports that's a very short and convenient commute between campuses. They a...

re: Why didn't Saban have more success at LSU? - droliver
LSU before Saban was a peer for MSU and Ole Miss most of the time, stuck in the middle of the SEC without realistic prospects of knocking off Alabama/Auburn for the SEC west. Saban imposed order to their potential and set the infrastructure for their continued success. He's absolutely the reason ...

re: Is Alabama football the single greatest sports program in history? - droliver
In popular culture its firmly the Yankees and the Crimson Tide football for dynasties. No one else is really in that discussion, and I'm not really sure anyone can achieve that kind of status anymore as its so tied up in history rather then just being good on the field. There's lots of good t...
