I'd rather the student section not chant sttdb but its not that big of a deal. In Europe some soccer fans use racial slurs and Nazi chants now that's something you can get worked up about. But not this. We beat a team that was ranked higher than us so enjoy it and calm down.

And we have a winner. Quit blaming the students for chanting vulgar things when they simply learned from the previous generations of students and fans. I've been going to LSU games for 25 years now and can vividly remember hearing frick You, a-hole, bullshite, Kick their arse, etc. sitting in the East side my entire life.
And stop trying to draw a distinction btw the vulgar chants of the past and this one. The natural progression is to get more and more vulgar, if you can't see that then I just don't know what to tell you. The people complaining who have ever screamed a curse word need to stop pointing the finger at the current students and start taking responsibility for helping to create the monster.
Do I like the chant? No. Do I scream STTDB? No. Is it classless? You bet. But taking away the student section might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The students are the heart of Tiger Stadium. Take them away and all the mystique of Death Valley goes with them.

No way they don't ban "Neck" again. You could pretty clearly hear the STTDB chant on the ABC telecast. The school isn't gonna risk getting games pulled from TV just so the student section can be vulgar.

Students are getting a bad rap. The entire stadium was sparsely attended in that weather. The difference is that the students jam together, leaving a huge vacancy, while the others stay in their assigned seats.

The football program wasn't built by the students, who are getting a subsidized education, it was built by fans throughout the state many of whom never attended or graduated from LSU. Fans that support the institution economically and provide the support to build the program. Students are getting what was built by those that came before them, it isn't just theirs as LSU represents more than the students.

Give out more tickets to the games. Hand them out to LSUS, LSUE, LSUA and give more to the professional schools.
Big games, I would give out 2,500 tickets more than seats. Smaller games, give out 5,000 extra. If a couple more show up, then put them in the aisles. It works. Skip used to do a similar thing for baseball.

It's obvious the students aren't going to stop doing their thing....hell if all the preventive measures for yesterday didn't work, nothing will.
I've heard a few people say oh it wad garbled....you couldn't really hear it...the other fans drowned it out.....nope you could hear it loud and clear on the tube!!
Just gonna have to do without Neck and other oldies for the time being.....dam shame!

I would guarantee that if they took the students tickets away it put them in the upperdeck.... The decline of the football team and enrollment would be real.

You honestly think that would start the decline of the football program? It seems to me most of the students think they are a lot more important than they really are. I'm pretty sure it's not the students financial contributions that allow the program to thrive. You wouldn't be missed nearly as much as you think you would.
