what if people in BR wanted to wear ULL colors instead of LSU's ?

So since I live in Alabama, I should wear either Auburn of Bama colors instead of LSU?

Id wear purple and not even think about it. They may give you evil looks and mumble things under their breath like "He thinks heeeees sooooo much better than everyone because hes an LSU fan and wears his LSU shirt on wear red day, ugh!"

Dont worry man, you are better.

I went to state for 2 years and had multiple classed with football players. Think I wore maroon and white?

ULL doesn't have a ton of fans to begin with. ULL fans are a minority in Lafayette, and the fact that they aren't the majority - and LSU is - is the reason they pull against LSU.

The radical ULL fans piss me off. I live in Lafayette and all week me and my family have been wearing purple and gold. I use to work in a local store and we were 'encouraged' to wear red on Fridays...I wore LSU polos. They weren't happy but legally they can't do anything about it. Wear your LSU gear proudly.

There are two employees out of about 500 at my office that graduated from LSU. I am one of the two. I am wearing a gold LSU shirt today, since tomorrow is the red day. I'm off tomorrow anyway, but I normally don't care what people wear on any given day. The feeling is mutual. I just don't participate in their group picture.

But if it's wear red day, I'd go so far as to go get a red t shirt screen printed with LSU on it...

The ultimate compromise.I like it.No rules, traditions or laws broken in the process.

I support you ....FWIW I see way more LSU stuff in Lafayette than ULL.
If a restaurant caters to only ULL fans I usually don't eat there.

I was not very popular that day. LSU was playing ULL the next day. Couldn't support the hometown Cajuns that day. I've worn red every other year since - until they play the Tigers again.

LOL I spent a semester at that school and wore purple and gold LSU gear every single day.I loved them starring me down like I just killed their first born. I could only stomach that city for a semester though.

I live in Lafayette as well and was "approached" with "you have to wear red on Friday". I asked why and they said, well don't you know UL is playing? I then asked, oh yeah who do they play. after a quick 15 seconds of silence, no one could tell me who they play. then i blew their minds when i told them UL would be on TV. Some of them of

LSU is the State's flagship. You should be able to where whatever you want. That being said, if they are doing a special thing, try to be civil.

Ahhh...but it doesn't. USL winning comes in a distant second to LSU failing. MANY MANY nights inside the Cajun Dome when I was a student (while having walked in 45 minutes before tip off and sat myself down behind the players' bench in the second row) did I hear far louder cheers when an LSU score was announced and they were losing than you'd hear for the Cajuns playing well on the court.

EVERYTHING that happens with the Cajuns is measured first against LSU...which is why they act the way they do.

not exactly, but they did factor into the moving equation. won't miss being heckled every time I went to a bar wearing a LSU cap. I didn't even get that when I lived in Oxford MS.

This right here...it's all about appearances. Very few people in Lafayette are what we would consider actual fans that follow the program.

You're experiencing the most anti-LSU town in Louisiana.....wear your purple and be proud of it.
