They might just do like some banks and specify which uniform shirt to wear each day, and make Friday the ULL Red days.

look, this is not worth me losing my job over and im really not a jerk, so if it ever came to that i would dress accordingly, but the little pissy attitude is what brought up the whole complaint. my boss's children go to STM, as others here go to different schools, they each support there teams on fridays as well, why should ULL or LSU be different?

Wearing an LSU shirt to work today and put my flags on the truck. UT guy in the office next to me has already said something.

In route to Big D this afternoon

LSU is their home state school. I can't wrap my mind around ULL fans. It's not like we are, in any conceivable way, rivals. Hell, I can promise that no one would catch shite for wearing Purple and Gold in Lake Charles.

Inferiority complex run amok, IMO.

if this was the NC game and ULL was not playing,
they would likely support LSU

what if people in BR wanted to wear ULL colors instead of LSU's ?

The Acadiana area has WAY more LSU fans than USL fans. It's not even close. This is actually much more of a PR thing than anything else.

And no...the USL fans who have been pushing this "Support UL Athletics, It's good for Business" crap do NOT also support LSU if they're winning. they openly pull against them.

And yes...I'm a USL alumnus but life-long LSU fan and season ticket holder.

I live near Lafayette and am willing to bet there are more LSU fans in Lafayette than ULL. This is obvious by the amount of LSU merchandise sold at Academy and other stores vs ULL.
You would never know this by the local news media. They report as little as possible about LSU out of fear of some radical fan base of ULL.
LSU is the state flagship university and should be supported everywhere, not just BR. It is a matter of state pride to support the tigers.

My parents always did. Most people in Lafayette are LSU fans but there are some die-hards.

I agree. No need to sell your soul and dress like a pepper, but think big picture. If you're the boss, you probably could give a shite about who when to what schools. This was organized as a team building excise and something fun for employees.

I think openly defying that looks petty on your part.

It's also "College Colors Day" accross the country. If you google it, there are articles from all over the place encouraging communities to support their local team. My dad lives in Colorado and its the same thing Friday. Not sure who this org is or what they gain from it but here is the link....

Wear a white LSU shirt and don't be a dick about things.

This. I got into a fairly heated argument with Joey Durel (then still running his pet store on Johnston St but now city-Parish President) about this issue. He practically lost his damn mind when I told him that I was a USL alumnus but after my time there and after seeing the behavior of the fans towards LSU I'd never financially support their athletic teams...and would be getting my first set of LSU season tickets shortly. In fact, this conversation took place about a day or so after the name change went through which is what spurred this talk.

shite...I'd bet my left nut that there are more LSU season ticket holders in the Acadiana area than there are total people on average at Cajun Field. Well, unless the are playing Texas A&M, or BAMA, or will be on TV...then everyone shows up.

How about a red shirt and a white CLM LSU hat?

Or an LSU button. Or....a Mike picture propped up on your desk/cube/door?

You're right, no need to get pissy.

As to the person in Houston whose UT officemate is giving him/her grief -- I work in a large office in the Houston area, lots of Aggies, UT, OU, Texas Tech people. Up until the Shady's thing, they were all pretty much suffering from envy. Forget them.

I'm a ULL alumnus and a LSU season ticket holder as well.

But i have some common sense and on "Wear Red Day" at work!!

I sure as frick won't show up in purple to be THAT GUY.

JMO

I've always Loved LSU but when a day is designated at work to support the local team then why try to be different.

Makes me wonder if it would make a difference if my boss had a son playing in Baton Rouge on Saturdays.

I'm the opposite of most UL fans. If the Cajuns aren't playing the Tigers I cheer for them. I grew up in Lafayette, lots of my friends went there and now that I've moved back, they are my hometown team. Gotta take that high road. However, being an alumnus of both LSU and Loyola, I will NEVER cheer for Tulane. Ever.

Tomorrow is supposed to be "wear your favorite team's colors" day. I thought most Fridays were like that already.

Somebody needs to explain this conceprt to your boss and the idiots you work with.
