Have you watched Miles on the sideline and come away impressed?

The continued attempts to paint anyone who dare suggest that LSU would be a better team under someone other than Miles as irrational and unhappy is pretty unoriginal and stale.
Most all posters of your type, ie nutsac4lsu, WHS(walkerhighschool?), have nothing good to say about anything.
Notice from different threads the same posters who hate Miles, hate Chavis, hate Jefferson, hate the Offense, Defense and even Alleva.
You're a bunch of freakin neurotic Eeyores.

To me it is amazing how many fans have given up on our team.
There is a big difference between completely giving up on the program and realizing we have some work to do to get back to the top of the SEC West. All this talk is a waste of time. I can't wait to see what Miles does next year and how the fans react. If he proves he cannot beat Bama, Florida, and Ole Miss again are you OK with this? I think Les deserves one more year to prove he can win an SEC West title. That is the great thing about time. I look forward to that great strategist Les Miles shredding the rest of the weaker coaches in the SEC like Saban and Meyer. Time will tell.

insist on cherry picking the record from the last two seasons to "prove" miles can't cut it and ignore the progress made from last season to this season?
Cause it allows them to paint the program more with a negative brush.
Pretty hard to be negative bout 9-3, 3rd in the SEC, 13 ranked in the nation, and going to a New Year Day bowl. So, they try to muddy the water by combining the 2 yrs.
That's also why the want to talk appearance and not results or the future and not the present.

I think that the negativity toward Miles has translated to negativity towards LSU football in general. I know we have not performed as well as we could have the past couple of years, but it seems as if some here revel in what has transpired the past couple of years. I also believe that if we brought in a different coach with the same results, (BCS and SEC trophy)yet struggled at times, these same posters would spend all their time defending the other coach. Point is Miles will never do anything to please these people. This is a big part of the negativity on this board.

Jefferson is doing a good job and Alleva hired a good one in Trent. Also, PM is a keeper.

Also the number of posts stating we are a mediocre football program now is astounding.

I don't think people are giving up on our team. I think people are discouraged by the lack effort/intensity/determination/dedication/balls by our athletic department to address an obvious issue(coaching).
Instead, they are going to allow the program to decline until they are FORCED to deal with the problem.
We would prefer to be proactive, address the issue and lets put everything we have into being the best that we can be. Instead, we walk on to the field with a handicap becausde of our head coach.

And tell me how the O-line is going to get better?

Miles has the want and the sunshine pumpers will hold hands and pray.
That's the plan. It's infallible.

All the stars have to line up for a team to play in the national championship game or be a top 5 team. I saw Texas and Florida falter in several games which they could easily have lost. I saw LSU lose 3 games that they could have won. The combination of good players playing their best & coaches making the right calls and a little luck could have placed LSU in a higher ranking. I believe LSU will be up to the challenge in 2010.

how can we look so confused and undisciplined so often over a two year period?
1. Age & inexperience at QB, O Line.
2. Overly-complex defensive (08) & offensive (09) schemes.
3. Some poor personnel decisions by Miles (co-coordinators).
What I wish someone would describe for me is, assuming we didn't have Miles right now, what they think the LSU program would like. Alabama? What do they think they would see that they aren't seeing now?

In 2008, our OL as a unit was ranked preseason #5 and our DL was #1. In 2009, the OL was #15 and the DL #20. Those same units were to a man highly recruited lineman. We have heard all too many times that ____________ is not picking up the offensive scheme. And we watch palyers from numerous other schools make big contributions as Fresh and Soph (PP excluded).
The recruting classes over the past 4 years are among the top in the nation. Our coaching staff is among the highest paid in the nation. We have state of the art facilities and some of the most passionate fans in the nation.
Yet our offense is ranked among the bottom 10% and we have struggled to an 8-8 record in the SEC over the past 2 years. Even if you take out the Ole Miss ending, which any fan would admit was mind-boggling, I would ask you to name what game(s) over the past 25 would lead you to believe we are ready to compete for an SEC title?

I haven't given up. Our Talent is not being used like it should. We had a chance in all 3 losses and poor coaching cost us every game.
