I disagree on the reason for it. Most everything here goes back to their deluded belief that Saban was more than he actually was. He popped thier National Championship Cherry. Many will be "Appreciating" him, praising his 2 double digit win seasons until the day they die.
Most of the negativity rally has nothing to do with Miles, per se. He just happened to be the guy that took the LSU job after Mr. Cherry Popper. This will continue with whoever the next coach is & likely the coach after that.
These people like to talk about discipline when it comes to Miles, but in 2004 when Xavier Carter brought a kickoff out & knelt on the 1 yard line, it was considered "Funny".

the main problem with the negatigers is their lack of perspective. they are not capable of looking at the big picture and understanding that the sec is the toughest conference in america. no one, not even meyer and saban, can stay on top forever. these are just normal cycles of college football.

Not being blissfully content with an 8-8 SEC record and 108th ranked offense equals wanting LSU to fail.
First off, you should seperate your thoughts to their respective years.
The 8-8 record is over a 2-year period. 4 of the 8 losses came against #1 or #2 in the nation, which I will suggest we played 3 of 4 to the wire. . A 5th loss was the Ole miss melt-down. But a loss is a loss. The record in '07 was 3-5....and the record in '08 was 5-3.
The 108th ranked O is a concern, but I think it has much to do with QB experience, QB confidence, and QB intelligence. JJ never looked comfortable this season. I am not saying JJ isn't smart, I think this O is overly complicated and forces too much "thinking" instead of letting players play.
With a year of experience and hopefully an upgrade on the O-line to but an extra second or two of protection, I think things will be OK in 2010.

What does "OK" mean? Win the west. Go 11-1? Yes we were "OK" this year? I agree. OK is not good enough with one of the top paid coaches (and coaching staffs in the nation), top recruiting classes, smothering home field advantages, and state of the art facilities!

You don't agree that Florida and Bama have consistently played more physical football than us the last two years?
No not really. The last two Bama games LSU has held their own on the physical side. I view each season as a new team, new season so I think LSU can win/compete with all SEC teams over that period. Things go in cycles, Bama/UF will have issues comeing up much like LSU has had the last two seasons
Agreed. Other than the Florida and OleMrs games of '08, the Tigers have not been less physical and in fact have been more physical than most during this season. It's not more aggression they need but a little more talent in the interiors of both lines and I believe that is coming. LSU will be a better team than UF next season IMHO and I believe will be on par in most areas with 'Bama once again. The Tide's game in Baton Rouge next November will be the game of the year.

I am reserving my judgement on the state of our program until next season is over. There will be no excuses next year (although there will be some that continue to blame perrilloux or crowton if he stays). If Miles can't win the west next year it will be obvious that he just can't get the job done.

Have you watched Miles on the sideline and come away impressed?
BTW, I fall into the category of someone who is very pleased with their personal and professional life. The continued attempts to paint anyone who dare suggest that LSU would be a better team under someone other than Miles as irrational and unhappy is pretty unoriginal and stale.

quote:the defensive problem was rectified. offense, tbd. no need for fans to have a "problem". these are normal things in football.
how can we look so confused and undisciplined so often over a two year period?
quote:how do you know that the team isn't dedicated to that? all teams have problems and go through these periods. yet, lsu remains firmly in the top 3rd of the sec under miles' watch
LSU will NOT get back to the top of the SEC and the nation until there is a re-dedication to being prepared, playing every play with intensity, and executing.

miles needs to do something

we have lost what ever we had in 07

bama and florida now own the sec

We will continue to drop with Les Miles running the program

I knew it had to be based on something other than actual analysis of our program

I do say from the way things look, we aren't as strong as a program than FLA and AL.
