I think it is so they can get a read on floridas defense before putting lee in... Then again in sure Florida is going to play differently against each qb so idk

Just play the best QB, who would be Lee, and let Florida try and stop us. frick the head games.

Great argument but we still need someone who can pass. You know, like a QB is suppose to do.

Yeah? So?

Put JL in the game.

Right, but the other side of that argument is that Lee presents the threat of a passing game, which also opens up the running game.
The UT game is too small a sample size to pass judgement at this time. I guess we'll see after Florida which is more effective.

Because when JJ in the game they have to put a man on him. That's easy just pick one of the four from the secondary. Hell pick two.

A QB rotation does NOTHING but frick up the flow of the game. If you have two QBs you don't have a QB.

I think one reason may be to try and protect Lee a little. Ease him into the starting position slowly. Also, Miles has come out and said that usually the first drive or so is scripted and JJ may know and fit into that script better. I'm not a fan of the 2 QB system, but it may be our best option at this point. I'm not really pushing for Lee to start right now, but I do like that he's getting more playing time. If he can eliminate some of his tendencies to just throw the ball up for grabs then he may get even more playing time or even start.

Good point. Maybe he is smarter than most think, but he is gonna have to keep winning.

Start Lee get him in ryhthm and spell him with JJ for some trick plays.

JJ cant even run the plays he practices running how in the hell you expect him to run trick plays?

thats what shep is for.

Start and play lee....run Shep at QB out of the wildcat (allowing him to throw) 20% of the time.....= Victory

It keeps the pressure off Lee and preserves any confidence JJ still has. It gives another week for JL to get ready to be the starter and with McNeese next week he gets his first start without a lot of worry about the outcome. It's a logical progression heading into the meat of the West schedule. Losing to Florida is not the end of the world but dropping games to AU and Bama back to back would be.

Les is doing the right thing, for once.

So what do you want to do, play to Florida's strengths?

And apparently Lee's passing game doesn't present enough of a threat to open up the running game.

UF currently has TWELVE interceptions. It would be one thing if Lee was a real sharp QB, but the fact is that he's not. LSU fans want to think that since the offense looks so bad with JJ starting, it MUST look better with JL starting. But that is a false assumption, it could be worse - a LOT worse..

If LSU could beat UF without throwing a single pass, I would be for it.

Lee looked good, led the team on the game-winning drive... yet, He is starting Jefferson. Why?

Trying to not bash this coach for his decisions is very difficult. I can only shake my head in dismay.

Besides the fact it looks like Lee does better off the bench, the one thing in JJ's favor is that he has started 5 games & we are undefeated...

If we don't throw the ball this weekend we will lose. End of discussion.

Bingo ! And we may be able to. Bama killed them with very little passing.
Florida is weak in punt coverage, give up close to 4yds/carry and lost their kicker to a back injury. Demps is knicked, Brantley is hurt enough for the O/U to be pulled on the board and we have a great D. Winning 9-7 is just fine with me.

This bullshite about trying to ease the qb in as to not get him upset is why we have a qb situation. Why don't we ease Kelvin Sheppard in at lb so he doesn't miss a tackle early. WTF!
