Good luck with that.

People with money don't give away big money out of the kindness of their heart. It's just that a few have a place at the table. No rantards are currently sitting there but they will dole it out.

I realize that you know folks in BR, but I think I'll disagree with you on this one.

Different reasons people give money in these circumstances... (typically not out of the kindness of their heart)

IT is every member of TAF. at LSU there are a lot of pretenders. Take for example the time Saban was miserable at Miami. The money was raised to run off Les and bring back Saban. When it came time to cut the checks they punked out and did not pony up.

Are there probably about 3-4 families that donate a million or two a year? Yea sure but there is not 3-4 or 5 guys doling out check of several Million. That only happens at Alabama!

You me and everyone else that is a member of TAF to get tickets will pay for it period.

So if it is not a couple people stroking checks then why is he leaving.

Alleva has 7 home games to make his entire Atheletic Budget.... FOR ALL SPORTS. Diving, Golf, Tennis, that cannot pay for themselves. When the stands are half empty in the 3rd quarter. It is equivalent to having one les game the whole year.

Do the math, if 30,000 fans leave and do not buy and extra coke or water or say $10.00 for the remaining quarter. There goes $300,000 in revenue!.

Les thanks for the great memories

One reason?

1. They're an LSU fan and tired of watching us be irrelevant in November and December.

2. They enjoy using the power of their earnings to get things done.

3. THey're tired of watching goofy Les Miles frick things up.

4. They pumped in million to a stadium and they want to celebrate in it the weekend after Thanksgiving.

5. They want to show that they can get things done.

6. Ego.

Off the top of my head.

BBQ Tim. His buy out is paid out over 5 years. So if Les Chooses to sit on his arse he will do just fine. I will expect that he will take a year off.

If he then chooses to go to Texas, or somewhere else like reported. He is not due his 15! So, don't get to suffocated around this 15 million number

I've got the number of one. Will see him today. He's called for firing Miles for years and now? Well he's not happy that he may be gone. The dude confuses me.

Why do any big donors ever donate to LSU athletics? Ego, power trip, flaunting their money and/or pride in/love for LSU, desire to see LSU succeed, etc.

I can ... and I know him personally. Know for a fact that when "things are needed" LSU calls him up and says "we need XXX amount of $$ BUT we'll give you _______________ as a thank you".

And I'll add, the one that I know personally did NOT graduate from LSU. His kids did but he did not.

Multiply by 6-7 home games and it gets to be very significant loss of rev.

This. The ones who will pay the brunt of this cost will be those of you who actually are fans. Queue the fiddle.

Supposedly, the big decline has been in Donations.

People donate to organizations that like what's going on...

Decline in wins evidently equals decline in donations.

Someone has to say not enough is enough.

Besides "Tigerbait2010" then... LOL

Many good points made about the buyout being reduced if Miles takes another job.

But what if Ole Les says... Cool I will buy a nice boat and enjoy life.

Who are these big boosters? It isn't like we are Okla State or Oregon State? Get ready for some expensive hot dogs and cokes...

Maybe $100 parking around the stadium?

AGAIN no real names of these big money guys or girls? Tom Benson?

LSU fans can count on an increase in the price of tickets, parking, concessions, merch, tuition, room/board and anything else associated with the buy out. The boosters responsible for the buyout will never be named in public due to retaliation IF this turns out like most think it will, which is bad...

There's so much fail in this thread it's comical.
The buyout can be spread over 8, not 5
This shut is getting outta hand. People are just talking out of their arse now
