How many times did Jimbo and Herman lose to Troy at home?

Maybe when he wins the West, or beats Alabama, or not lose to Troy.

Yeah I can't figure out why he needs a parade for a decent but disappointing season. He shouldn't be burned at the stake either but we shouldn't pretend like he pulled off some miracle by beating 1 great team and a handful of bad ones. How he closes this recruiting class and whether or not we take a step forward next year is the real barometer

Fair enough.

We fired Miles and rightfully expected the next coach to exceed Miles’s last years and take us back to winning championships. Just like Georgia fired a pretty good coach in Mark Richt to hire Kirby Smart—Smart was expected to take a good program to the next level.

Smart had a so-so first season, then won the SEC and is headed to the CFP in his second season.

Orgeron had a so-so first season. I’ll back off on criticizing him for it.

But I’ll give him credit in his second season if he wins the SEC and takes us to the CFP.

If he falls short of that, he’s no better—and probably worse—than Miles and should be fired.

Fair enough?

If not ... WHY not?

First of all interim doesn’t count you are running someone else’s system.

Second you don’t get to claim credit for righting the ship after a Troy like loss if you ran the ship into the iceberg in the first place.

The real question is O the 10-25 HC who managed to lose to Moo State by the largest margin in the history of the rivalry, lose to Troy while handcuffing your OC after claiming for months you had learned your lesson and would let coaches coach. And the coach with a command structure so dysfunctional it required the AD to call you and your Coordinators into an unprecedented in the history of college football meeting.

Or the HC after the meeting and hitting the iceberg who beat Aub and bunch of teams who were even more dysfunctional and fired their coaches.

I love this statement. Please provide the NCAA regulation which states that an interim's HC record does not count.

Sounds like where Miles usually ended up when he was coach.

I'll give credit to our assistant coaches who are good at what they do. I do not give O credit for anything.

game.. dude has 0 input in what's going on... other than calling horrible 3rd down timeouts

Fan base complains when Miles interferes with offense.

Fan base complains when O doesn't interfere.

What the hell do you want from a head coach? Make up your d$&n mind!

Larry Coker was 24 - 2 in his first two years or some such shot with an MNC win and MNC loss. Look how that turned out after that.

Cue the mental gymnastics to explain away terrible seasons by both Herman and Fisher.

Cue the mental gymnastics where losing to Troy and being blown out by State in historic fashion wasn't at the least equally terrible.

Don't you know how the LSU "fan" base works?

O will never get ANY credit and he will get ALL the blame. Just like Miles.

When he shows that he is clearly better than the guy he replaced and this whole 12 million dollar experiment was worth it.

I give credit to Canada and Aranda

If Les gets credit for not hiring a quality OC, u
Timately getting him fired, then O has to get equal credit for bringing Canada on board. He also managed to retain Aranda.

A top 10 finish before the bowl game and a bowl win would do it for me. Losing at home as a 14 point favorite with the Sugar Bowl on the line or to Troy at homecoming with competent QB play just doesnt get it done for me.

O humpers come out early and in numbers. O has never won anything as a head coach, never accomplished anything or shown any leadership qualities. Joe righted the ship when he stepped in and told the buffoon to get out of the offense and stick to calling time outs and try to concentrate on knowing who was in the starting line up week to week, especially at running back. Since O's censure by the head of the athletic department and his limited input on the offensive side of the ball, we have had much better success.
