I appreciate your thoughts. Interesting comments except for the jack arse grammar nazi. There is nothing more douchy than to come on a thread and bitch at a guy for a grammar error. Captain obvious, if
I was typing on a computer auto correct would have caught it. I think I did pretty good to have 1 typo on an iPhone while I was driving.

Les took over a team that just went 9-3 and lost to Iowa in tube cap-1 bowl. Les has done just fine.0

Without a doubt. I have NEVER seen a team regress as the season unfolds like a Les Miles coached team. Unbelievable.

You must like Chic-Fil-A, and the 2007 NC was with 55% Nick Saban recruits, a monkey could have been coaching on the sidelines against Ohio State and Nick's recruits, (Dorsey, Doucet, Flynn, Hester, Highsmith, Pittman, Johnson, Zinger, Jackson, Zenon, Arnold)would have won that game.

X10000 Finally somebody said it. The guy from Will and Grace could have coached LSU to a victory in 07. Great post!

It's amazing how many people truly believe this, or honestly believe that 9-3 is some kind of "floor" for the LSU football program.

Just look at how quickly Southern Cal -- a clear top 5 program -- cratered, to see how incredibly wrongheaded this kind of thinking is.

What Nick and Mark built at LSU can't just be measured on W & L's even though its impressive as well. He closed the boarders of recruiting in the state. His vision on building the facilities were second to none. Did anyone go to Bama last weekend? He's done the same there. It's impressive and recruits take notice. What is Miles vision? Well, did u happen to see the interview when he was driving? He's oblivious to what's actually going on around him in his car, on the field and off the field. We are not keeping up with the Jones. In time some will say, how did we get here? Other will say, I told u.

Since 2004 was what was handed to him, is that the baseline?

If so, then the answer is obvious

frick you dumbassed SOBs are maddening to hell and back. Two years ago in the NC game and none of you gives Les credit for coaching a team that was undefeated in thirteen games that year.

ETA the Alabama game last year was decided in the last minute. The defense held Johnnie football to his lowest total game output for his year.

What was handed to him in 2004? A team that lost 3 games, including to Iowa in the last seconds on a hail mary coached by a team known for defensive backs? A team that was 1-2 in the previous 3 bowl games? Sounds to me like he was handed a Ford in 2004 and turned it into a Mercedes. I've had more fun with this LSU football program since 2005 than I had from 1965 - 2004, including from 2000 - 2004 (with the possible exception of 2003). No, I don't have low standards, I have very high standards, but I am a realist. Players come and players go and teams win and teams lose. If we had gotten blown out Saturday and never been in the game, I would have been disappointed. Hell, I even thought we were still going to win when Odell returned the kickoff. Life goes on. This team has exceeded my expectations this year, although I did think we would be a little better on D.

I totally agree with you.How we forget how bad it was before he got to the program. he can put players in the possession to make the plays but they have to perform bottom line!

As I said all year 8&4 this year. Lsu didn't just quit in the 4 th. quarter last week, we quit in the NC game in a rematch with Bama. Team lost swagger after beating them in regular season. Time to move on are program will decline. Have any of u looked at the last 4 bowl games? 1 & 3!!!

So if our success in 2007 is based purely on the fact that the big name players that year were Saban recruits, then are you saying that we haven't had stronger recruits since Dorsey, Doucet, Flynn, Hester, Highsmith, Pittman, Johnson, Zinger, Jackson, Zenon, Arnold?

I mean if it is based purely on quality of recruits and zero coaching, then what you are saying is we have not had as strong of recruits since. So all of the players we have sent to the NFL since 2010 not nearly as good as Saban's recruits playing in 2007? Is that what you are saying?
