As I said, Catherine Stevens has been told that her husband is dead. As for Sean and his son (still not sure which one, apparently), the reports that they survived are coming from NASA personnel in Alaska, through their local contacts. The same NASA sources have told my father's friend that it was Jonathan, in fact.
I wish I could link to something, but I can't link phone conversations. I can only promise you the word of mouth comes from people who would know, and who have been hammering the phones all day.

my friend talked to Sean's wife and both Jonathan and Kevin are alive both sons John didn't go on the flight.

Yeah, my father's friend has maintained that he isn't sure what son, but that the NASA guys were saying it was Jonathan. Whichever one it is, I'm just glad they're alive.
BTW, it was Sean who told me that they stopped recruiting Joe McKnight when he demanded that his girlfriend be given a full ride to LSU.
