What a douche of a cop. Why do I feel as if it would have went a totally different route if he answered yes to military?
1.Its just BS he was arrested for speeding. Ive never heard of such in Louisiana.
2.How does the wife claim he didn't know he was a NFL player. He clearly states to him after he asked him if he was military then repeats it. Then he even tells the other officer when their by the car lol.
This cop couldn't follow his own directions besides having someone else follow. What a moron

I hear what you are saying, but this is also one of the perks of being in the military. I say they kinda deserve it.
However, all Sam did was speed and he handled himself extremely well, I believe he should have got off.. at least with a ticket at most.. not arrested. (It is the cop's discretion and Sam was nothing but cooperative from the start)

Exactly.. Some of the high and mighty people are absurd with their, "He shouldn't break the law and he would avoid this" crap. Doesn't give the cop the right to act this way.. and obviously his own department believes so as well as they have suspended him.

If you listen to the audio the cop says he was clocked at 89 while making a pass. When I make a pass on a two-lane highway in my slow-arse SUV I hit that speed pretty regularly before slowing back down to a normal cruise speed.

bullshite. If it is this cops discretion to bring Sam to jail for doing 89 in a 55 he should bring anybody to jail doing 89 in a 55. Off duty cop, military, president, I dont give a shite who. Whats wrong for one is wrong for all

It's a good tipoff that you aren't dealing with some hardened criminal or someone that will be a big issue when they have zero idea how to put their hands in order for the cops to put the cuffs on

First off, Sam was complete class throughout this. I was a little confused at what the cop wanted as well . And he clearly didn't know you could be arrested for speeding...lesson learned.
Secondly, I'm surprised the cop was suspended, because I've seen cops do way worse and not get suspended. I chalk all his douchiness up to him being scared of that big dude and just being a cop in general.
And lastly, why was the cop's second question "are you an NFL player?" Seemed like a weird question to ask.

I've been cuffed a few times and have two college degrees and didn't know what the hell he was saying. I probably would've stopped and asked what the F he wanted me to do.
