I guess I've been asked to step out of the car before a few times that I don't think it was weird. They already said he made a legal arrest so I don't see why he was suspended.

I don't think you watched the same video I did.

And it may be "normal cop behavior" to you, but that doesn't make it acceptable.

I'm with you. Ever watched one of those videos of cops getting shot during a routine traffic stop? shite is crazy. I didn't think this cop crossed the line in that regard.

That doesn't excuse you making threats to tazer a kid that's been completely respectful and compliant just because you are stumbling over your words and can't effectively announce your directions

I got pulled over around midnight once for an illegal left turn. Cop got on his speaker and ordered me out of the vehicle with license in hand (enjoyable experience for a 19 year old being pulled over for the first time). Once I was out of the car he wasn't a dick though.

Regardless of race, I too would have been fearful if a giant of a man stepped out of the car after going freaking 34 miles over the speed limit at 1:00 am. Going 34 miles over the speed limit is clearly extremely wreckless behavior, so already the cop has to suspect the individual is capable of doing anything. He was much nicer to Sam once he felt comfortable that he had the situation under control. Still should have let him go, but I don't blame him for his initial actions.

I'd like to see the video of the arrest and not the news story covering this a-hole cop's horse faced wife.

It's 30 minutes long tho.

shite on that. The cop asked him to exit his vehicle and Sam did so and calmly and respectfully complied with every increasingly absurd command from the cop. Yet the cop continued to be a complete jackass and even had the gall to threaten to taze him. And then after all of that, took him into the station. What a dickhead. No getting around it.

Anyone that thinks the cop acted correctly here is a moron.

NFL? Alright, you're under arrest. Followed up by the most asinine commands to a completely calm and compliant individual included a threat to taser him?

Then he goes through his phone without consent?

Sam went so above and beyond to be compliant too. He was slouching down in order to help the cop out.

Gained a lot of respect for him, b/c I would have been running my mouth

He should lose his job for this alone. Kudos to the department

This cop should be fired on the basis of being a idiot.

I must have missed this? It sounded like he asked for his license and that's what he took from his pocket.

No, Sam asked if someone could come get his car and if he could call his mom. It was then that the trooper went to his car, located the phone and started looking through it.

I forgot about the undying fame surrounding Sam Montgomery right now.

You're probably right. A video leaking of unflattering treatment of an NFL player would generate zero heat for a police department.

Taser really? This guy is a grade A penis. It felt like if Sam would have said he was in the military , he wouldn't have arrested him.
