Again....He was supposed to either be Pat White (or what Denard Robinson is) at QB or Percy Harvin at WR.

How did he become a complete non factor???

There were some recruiting sites that felt he would be a better college QB than Terrelle Pryor. Again..Not saying he had to be great..but he was supposed to be good.

Well, he doesn't play QB and we don't run a spread option. He is the 3rd WR on a team that runs way more than they throw. He was also suspended for 3 games this year.

I said it when he was converted from QB to whatever it was he was supposed to be - CLM does not utilize his talent to the best of their ability. But sadly, it's not just RS who suffers from this coach's gaping talent blind-spot.

He (along with the rest of the WR's) should look golden next year playing with Mettenberger under center. It's a shame that all of our WR's have had statistics go down the drain the last portion of the season.

ETA: I hear he has an interesting twitter post right now, something along the lines of "I have a tough decision to make". I dk, a friend just texted me that

He does have a red shirt that would allow him to transfer. Probably should as Les has shown him zero love.

Officially, he was in on three (3) plays. Incredible. No. 1 rated athlete/QB out of Houston HS.....gets suspended, but for running his mouth, not for drugs, fighting, etc. We signed Reuben Randle and Craig Loston directly because he "recruited them" at the HS Under Armour all-star game in Florida. Wonder if he still "recruits" for LSU?

Honestly.....he hasn't put on the weight as expected. His frame is just too small. Harvin was absolutly jacked. I don't put the blame on miles for him.

I just don't think he fits a position. He's not near the size and strength of Harvin or Pat White so converted to reciever and just hasn't translated to the position. I don't know why we don't use him more like we did his freshman year and at least get him the ball in space 4-5 times a game, but a lot of that has to do with the lack of talent at the QB position. Hopefully with Mettenburger things can open up more.

I really don't think it has anything to do with us not being able to utilize the talent. He just doesn't fit our system. He would be much better in the spread like all the players you mentioned (White, Robinson, and Harvin).

Feel bad for the guy, he could play at any skill postion on the field and we can use him right.

Does not really have a position at this time. I do not see him becoming a great receiver, and I hope I am wrong. We shall see next year, but if Beckham and Landry are better (I think they are) then he needs to sit or get more involved in the return game. Probably should have gone to a spread option school, but that fad seems to be going away.

Seems like if Miles wants to run option and not throw the ball, Shep would be the man for the job. Can he really be as bad passing as JJ?

Taylor Martinez, Denard Robinson and others are TERRIBLE passers. But great runners and overall good football players. I have a hard time believing that Shepard couldnt have been similar. Again...thats at least better than JJ right?

Starting QB could get him the ball so insert a bigger blocking WR in his spot.

Shep does not play because he has hands of clay....cannot catch the ball in traffic and cannot break a tackle...very simple....not that good

you say that and yet, look at Mo Claiborne, chase clement (under used IMO), barkevious mingo. they were all basically recruited as athletes and are playing out of position from HS. i do agree that we have some wasted talent though.

RS was one of the best QBs to ever play in the Houston area. Loston is first cousin. RS was a great recruiting tool for LSU. Miles should have given RS more opportunity at QB. Miles rode JJ like Zorro all the way into the ground. Our play by play announcer in the 3rdQ of the NCG was even saying he could not understand why LM was not giving Lee an opportunity. Neither could we!
