I knew you would be along to criticize anything remotely negative about Miles. Miles had become a really really bad coach, get your head out your arse and recognize .

It was after that TO on 3rd down that we came up with the play to run LF into a 20 man front. It was then that LF and Miles had a discussion.
It was a wasted TO and we ended up with a fg after the sack-fumble the D had just created.

After watching that exchange I had a feeling we might be seeing the beginning of the end.

Miles had lost support of the administration and boosters but not the team. Yes, they were frustrated, but I seriously doubt mutiny would have happened. The mutiny was happening in the TAF.

No. Miles lost the team. Everyone knew that TAF had mutinied long ago but they were willing to wait it out even if LSU was out of the NCP picture. A lot of pissed off players after that game. They thought that Miles had mentally checked out on them during the game and Cameron had no clue. That was a recipe for disaster.

Whoooo rumors. I'm guessing your source can't (won't) be identified.

Who doesn't believe the players were about to give up on the season. From number five to unranked, not TDs in fourth quarter with the best running back in college football.

LF wanted to go for it and was upset.. U can see miles say to him we had to take the lead as LF was walking away. Or something about taking the lead.

You really can't be that damn dumb. Maybe you are. What I'm criticizing is his assertion that he has this inside source. And what is worse is that you bozos all tend to believe outlandish "rumors" with out any verification.

Les Miles was fired because he didn't win football games. That is the long and short of it. That scenario was in place from the end of the Wisky game. One more loss and the plug would be pulled. The speed at which it happened shows that the move was well planned in advance. No stupid fight or mutiny or other dumbass incident was needed.

If LSU had won Saturday night then the clock would still be ticking and Alleva would have pulled the plug on the first loss. The decision was made; the basic details were in place. The only thing left blank was the date.

You people need to grow up and live in the real world.

play calling

that makes me wonder about the little exchange between LF7 and Miles towards the end of the game, I guess we'll never know, my $.02: Alleva doesn't call those shots, just plays the heavy when he's instructed to

Alleva has been waiting in ambush for Miles sine he got his legs cut out from him last November.. I have no doubt that he has had the basics of the firing plan in place for months. You are right all he was waiting for was the permission to do it.

Now here is a conspiracy for all you baws that love conspiracies: Was Orgeron in on it? Now if I had "sources" I might push that. Think about how fast it happened.

Never played organized sports have you? I'm not saying a mutiny was about to happen, but you would have to be a moron to not believe that the players were fed up with the offense. We had a mass exodus of receivers this past offseason, the starting qb is tweeting to one that left how smart he was. You think these guys don't have friends as family back home telling them how Les Miles (or Cam) was killing their season, and more importantly to them, their draft stock?

Go read the thread on the OT about coaching youth and dealing with parents, and then understand that parents don't stop being parents.

oh yeah, the plan was in place, with the finger on the trigger, it wasn't like they were at brunch on Sunday and as they were breaking up, "what are you guys doing the rest of the day?" JA: I don't know, hell, I might play golf or what the heck, I think I'll run by the office and fire Miles on the way home"

The players said all the right things after his firing...but if you also read the things they've said about the practices and what not it's pretty clear they were not a happy bunch

that's kind of a slippery slope, on the on hand , they are the ones that you need to go out and perform, on the other hand you've got to take what ever comes out of their mouths with a block of salt, not always a collection of the sharpest tools in the shed

ETA: and certainly not all, if any of them have a grasp of the big picture

You could see the players faces on the sidelines going all the way back to 1/9 NC game. "Here we go again." They loved their coach but had zero confidence in the game plan.

Yes. A long time ago and one year we had a dismal season but nobody "mutinied" or "quit".

You almost had me until you threw this in. I haven't seen too many players other than Mett whose draft stock went down. And even you can't blame that on Miles. Or can you?

The point is that what was posted was a "rumor" Unsubstantiated. And people jumped on it like it came down carved in to stone tablets.

All I ask is proof. Why is that is that hard? Like that old hamburger commercial" Where's the beef?"

I wouldn't doubt it. After that exchange between LF7 and Miles after the 3rd down play, I have no problem believing that.

100% all of this.

And after Miles was fired, does anyone get any kind of feeling of sadness from the players or coaches who remained on staff? Everyone is just kind of like "it's a business". It's like everyone close to the program knows that the guy had to go.

And I heard Les Miles on TV today on OTL and even he didn't sound like he was broken up about it.

It just feels like every single person involved knew it was time, including the head coach himself.

the scouts know talent when they see it, if they have hopes in drafting a prospect they just keep their fingers crossed that the kid won't get hurt slogging their way through a poor system, Miles didn't cost any draftees any money
