hell I'll admit I'm way too invested in this shite, but when you're at the point where you think you have to act a certain way following a win like that because of our status then what's the point?

So we should dismiss the picture because it doesn't meet your standard of worthiness? Beating #3 Ole Miss doesn't justify a timeless photo?

The photo of Trey Quinn crowd surfing sums it up perfectly.

How can any LSU fan look at that pic and not get caught up in the joy of the occasion?

That's a great picture.

I think it's a shame that that image is going to be attached to a victory over Ole Miss during a rebuilding year for the program.

honestly, yes. LSU football is a miserable experience for some fans. they will complain about people on the field celebrating after knocking off an undefeated good #3 ole miss team

I really like how you guys are saying that in response to me, and anyone that knows me IRL, and all the people in 632 could tell you it is not even close to describing my reaction to the game.

That doesn't mean I'm not allowed have the opinion that rushing the field was unnecessary. It also doesn't mean I looked down at fans that did it or turn my nose up.

for those kids...at that time... do you really believe it was "manufactured" emotion?

Especially when none of them knew the photo was being taken.

Was it really "storming" or "rushing" the field. I didn't see the initial part of it (I was rushing my front porch and driveway ) but the portion I did see and the pictures I"ve seen didn't really seem like it was a full blown rushing or storming.

Besides, the pics of Quinn crowd surfing are so cool it's hard to find fault with what happened.

I agree. enjoy the big wins. celebrate. go crazy. it's college football.

I thought ole miss tearing down the goal posts and storming the field was awesome a few weeks ago. so did their fanbase. yet here they are today making fun of LSU for doing something similar.

With no context surrounding it, absolutely. I think everyone here thinks I just stood around sulking after the win.

I think you are missing the point.

A win over a #3 team (3 pt favorite) at home shouldn't be a groundbreaking event with the number of accomplishments that LSU has over the last 15 years. It was a good win. But, we will probably have wins like this every year or so. Does it make sense to you to rush the field once a year?

I was glad to see our students claiming this team as theirs. They have been disassociated from them for too long. That being said, as a program with as many top five wins as anyone in the country, we are past the "shock" of beating a top ranked opponent. I would rather we had the mindset to be surprised if we lose a game like that in tiger stadium.

Relatively, yes. Absolutely.

I'm not saying they weren't excited. I was excited. But, relative to rushing the field? It didn't/doesn't make sense.

Think about it. Our very next game on the schedule surpasses it in importance, as a challenge, and as a stage.

It was a CLEAR overreaction.

if you are just looking from the outside as a win over #3 Ole Miss then yeah, probably doesn't warrant rushing the field

but Saturday night, when a few weeks ago the team was embarrassed, the fans were booing against NSMT, then Miles mom dies, how the crowd was rocking the entire night, all the shite talking by Bo, all of that coming together...it made sense to rush the field

Did/Will LSU get fined for it? If so, it should be added to the fees of the students who attended.
