I would be there no doubt....if it is just a crap game with crap teams I always find something else to do...if the Tigers are here I will be there....

I went to their last two Indy bowls...and froze my butt off and stayed till the end of both...

what was Miles record as a head coach before he got to LSU? I'm quite certain that I can find many resumes across the country that matches that.

this coming from the same cat that thinks we should've hired Petrino

check how many winning seasons or bowl games OSU had before Miles got there while you're at it.

Except none of them have resurrected a program that went through 20 years of wilderness due to NCAA sanctions on their resumes.

Saban was the coach of Mich State. He was dumb struck by the superior talent of LSU since he only got the leftovers from U. Mich.

Are you kidding me? Saban had way more talent on his team.

Thanks to Lou Tepper, the wheels would come off one more time for a couple years and LSU would miss bowls in 98 and 99

Thanks, Lou...That allowed me to get my season tickets in the doldrums of LSU football

You simply CANNOT compare 1995 to now.

Back then, it was a LOT more difficult to get into a bowl game.

Now there are a zillion of them and everyone goes to one.

This year's team would most-likely NOT be going to a bowl game with 1995 standards in place.

I was living in Shreveport for the MSU game and it was huge! had friends stay at my house from all over the state, except BR (to far to drive they said).

Just a different time is all I can say, for me it was so much more fun than now.

Indy Bowl against Notre Dame was worse. It was miserable.

I agree... There are way to many bowls.. I am old school and I remember that last Saturday of the season when the Michigan vs. Ohio st game meant the winner went to the rose bowl and the loser went HOME for the holidays...... And after the UM-OSU game came the USC-UCLA game that most of the time determined the rose bowl team for the pac-8... ALWAYS a great Saturday.........

I never said we should have hired Petrino. If you could have clicked on that thread, you would have seen that it was just a simple reminder, that "hey guys, we hired Miles over Petrino." But it can't be denied that on that day in 2008 Petrino took a far less talented team and beat LSU.

Was it implied, sure. But "implied" wouldn't stand up in court. Like Bill Clinton said, "It depends on what your definition of "is" is."

How many years were these guys (*) big time NFL players? They were considerably better at all of these positions than LSU.

Me too. I remember how much suspense there was in being a bowl possible when bowl invites really meant something. That is what put a team among the elite and it was a lot more fun than computerized entitlements and waaaaaaay too many bowls like now.
