If you think we win the 9-6?game without JJ, then you either didn’t watch it, or are just being disingenuous. Lee was a complete deer in the headlights. JJ beat Saban back to back years.

Anthony Jennings was much better in 2016 vs Bama than JJ was in 2011-12 but we don’t rank him ahead of JJ because of that. It’s a bad standard using a poor performance just because we won the game.

So ignore the body of work and the bowl performance and judge every QB based on 1 selective game where he didn’t even play well? Where do you rank Jesse Daigle all time, top 5?

008 - Lee replaces JJ for the 2nd half of Troy game trailing by 28 points. Greatest comeback in LSU history

Uh, due respect to J.Lee for his part in the comeback, but he started the game and was the QB when Troy was running up that lead. He even threw a pick 6.

Jefferson at that point was a freshman that hadn't really played. He only got in cuz Lee was kinda sucking.

I’m not ranking them on one single game, what about 2008? Or after that when JJ beat him out? Lee could throw one pass, and that was a fly to Randle when he was one on one bc we were a smash mouth team.

That’s also incorrect and if you put their stats as a starter side by side Lee’s are better not only individually but winning percentage also, and that’s counting the 5-6 games Lee had to come in and win games Jefferson was losing including at the time the largest comeback in school history when Jefferson nearly got us blown out by Troy.

“Lee could throw one pass, and that was a fly to Randle”

You must have missed all those deep crossers and seams he hit in his first college game to bring us back to beat Auburn or the game vs State in 2011 where they controlled the run game and Lee won the game with his play or West Virginia when he threw 3 TDS and 0 picks to win a game where our D got shredded.

Didn’t Lee start the Troy game? I don’t remember honestly but know he threw a pick six and was doing terrible, if anything he bailed himself out… against Troy. JJ bailed out a terrified Lee in 2011. Lee wanted zero part of Bama. His eyes were wider than someone with a gun pointed at their head during that game.

Maybe him coming in, not turning it over, punting and letting our D control the game was the formula to win in 2011 but Chad Loup snapped a 31 game win streak for Bama in Tuscaloosa and nobody ever says he was better than Howard, Hodson, Herb Tyler or anybody from that era do they?

Well I don’t think I have to explain why those are totally different scenarios

How so? You don’t wanna go by numbers or win %, you want to go by one game so you can’t dismiss the comparison.

Anthony Jennings was better vs Bama in 2016 than JJ was in 2011 but nobody’s claiming Jennings is better because that standard doesn’t hold water.

I watched those teams back then. Lee was absolutely terrible and reverted back to his previous deer in the headlights look when playing against Bama. He was scared shitless

It does, either one of them could have beaten every other team in 2011, but only JJ could beat Bama on the road or in 2010. Also check Lee’s stats outside of 2011. There is a reason he got beat out.

For a quarter. You can’t say the guy who’s lower by every metric including team ppg and win % is better because the team won a game where he scored no TDs and accounted for 2 first downs. You’re entitled to your opinion and they’re close enough to where you have an argument but this particular argument doesn’t hold water.

Fair enough, let’s argue about current QBs lol. How do you like the basketball team we have assembled? I think we did fantastic given the circumstances. I think we can be good

I actually think overall the roster could be better than last years. McMahon will have to adjust to the step up in conf competition, every smaller school coach does but I think we have a chance to make the tourney. I think having some of his guys is gonna make the transition smoother and probably get us over some non conf trip ups we’d normally have with a new coach. With the QBs I think it’s either Nuss or Brennan.

I love the hire and agree that we can be better than last year. Also agreed that bringing over some of their guys will help with chemistry, also they seem to be pretty dang good.

Brennan is talented man. Some of those throws against Mizzou were freaking lasers. I dont believe in him as much as some but if he starts I trust BK and think he will be very good. And if it’s Nuss, I trust that too, he threw some dimes in the Spring game.

Yea especially with one being the PG and another maybe his best player. Also people are gonna love Hannibal, he’s got that same aggressiveness on D that Gaines had but a different type of athlete. The other guys he brought in have really high ceilings and again having consistent guard play is gonna make things easier on them.
