Anyone who has anyone above Crews can’t be trusted. The guy was our one great known commodity last year and was pitched to differently even than Morgan and he still had stellar results.

I know. Don’t think he goes that high without having a position and only two real plus tools

Yes if Crews has a better season than Morgan at hitting the baseball then he will pass him on my list of who I think the top 3 are because I have already stated the top 1-4 are all pretty damn good hitters and the top 3 are all neck an neck.I just think Morgan will repeat what he did last year maybe even top it and my top 3 were all freshman last year and all had awesome seasons. So 1 of those 3 will have the best season on the team if I had to guess and thus have done it for 2 seasons in a row at an elite level

I think itll be interesting between berry and morgan. People are sleeping on morgan as a pro prospect. Definitely agree that its closer than people think.

Eh, I don't think many are. Morgan is going to be a 1st round pick at this rate.

But Berry, if everything goes right for him, can be a team's HR leader in the majors.

But again, with all of this said... Crews is the most complete hitter this team has ever had since Bregman.

He has power, uses all fields and his pitch recognition is really fricking good.

Crews won’t have Mainieri coaching him to hit ground balls.

Putting Jobert ahead of Morgan is silly. It might turn out to be true, but remember, there is no book on Jobert. Coaches will eventually figure out what his weaknesses are and exploit them. This is already the case with Morgan.

So you want a single that advances a runner from first to second to count the same as a single that advances a runner from third to home? And you also want both of those to be worth more than a leadoff double?

What did he say that makes you think a single that advances a runner one base would count as more than a double in that poster’s metric. It sounds like they would count the same.

Morgan at #4. Nah, easily top 2 in lineup.

Dugas needs a turnaround.

The guy that had 19 home runs and 66 RBI last season, and who is 2-6 so far, this year? Why does he need a turnaround? Or am I missing some kind of sarcasm?

It was a reference to his struggles in the fall and spring. It's why he's been at the bottom of the lineup when in the lineup. He had no hits Friday and 2 on Saturday. No walks. Both singles.

Morgan on top of my list. I think is the best pure hitter on the team. Ik he don’t have the power like the others, but he can drive the ball all over the field

I would put him at two behind Crews. He can hit it all over and has the power to all fields to go with it.

I don't think "known" commodity has anything to do with anything. Morgan, Doughty, and Dugas were all great last year. And Berry had almost identical numbers to Crews, except that he had way more RBI. I think Morgan is absolutely the best pure hitter on the team. He has an approach that is perfect for MLB, right now. Crews and Berry are neck and neck as far as all around hitters.

You can't go wrong with any of those three.

But health is a major issue with Gio. Your best ability is availability.

I know what his stats this year are. I watch the games. I see nothing wrong with two singles in 6 at bats.

I put zero stock into fall and spring stats, anymore. Some guys just get up for the games that count. And some are practice warriors, who don't know how to deal with pitchers who pitch with a plan against them, in actual games. If Dugas struggles this week, I'll put more stock into that. Right now, I'm not worried, and I think it's silly that he batted 8th on Saturday.

It's Jay's evaluation, not just mine.

Gio was 3 for 6 with a double and a HR, a walk, and no Ks.
Duggas was 2 for 6 with 2 singles, a K, and no BBs.

Duggas didn't have a "bad" weekend. But on a team this deep, his spot right now is 7th or 8th when he plays. And he will continue to play of course, but guys are right on his heels for time.

I am wondering about the new DH rules for the NL. Could this mean some of these guys go higher now?

Well, this is all the new coaches know of the players.

Glad you don’t put stock in to it, but they kind of have to
