When I think "pure hitter" I think Rod Carew...Tony Gwynn...etc.

Morgan is that type of pure hitter to me.

You have a slightly different view of "pure hitter"...and that's ok by me.

We were talking about Tony Gwynn Friday night in the stands. The man had just 400 Ks in over 16000 ABs. fricking unreal.

He was unreal. Bat control like no other.

Good dude too.

Exactly and hitting to all fields and the toughest person to strike out.Morgan has superb understanding of the strike zone and puts the bat on the ball.Is he the best player? No…Berry an Crews are the best ball players on the team without question but that wasn’t the question asked. But everything is subjective and everyone will view what makes a great hitter differently

In 2011 he was the best hitter on the team without question

I’m not arguing one way or the other but where the pro’s project a future player has zero significance in this conversation

Morgan is a better pro prospect than Berry I think.

Berry and Crews on top by a large margin. Nobody else is the full package.

Morgan is a clear 3rd. The only thing that keeps him from being up with Berry and Crews is the consistent power.

Doughty is next. He just needs to do it in the conference. Jobert has been great. We just need to see if he can sustain it.

Crews
Berry
Morgan
Doughty
Jobert

The rest all have some glaring weaknesses. Not that we don't have other good hitters, but they're not as complete. The rest could be the difference in a good season and a Omaha run. Staffs may be able to maneuver through the big 4-5 a bit so the rest will have to be opportunistic (not great, just step up when staffs are limiting damage from the big 4-5).

I ain’t drinking that koolaid Berry and Crews are what the pros look in my opinion. But college player wise just taking into account pure hitting Morgan is a top tier hitter he just doesn’t have all the tools like Crews and Berry play Berry is a switch hitter

Why not all-time though?

Your whole argument for Morgan being the best hitter is stats, well Raph had the highest average of anyone who has ever swung a bat for LSU.

Nah, but Morgan is a very interesting prospect at least in terms of what his position will be in the pros.

He’s an OF. No real debate about it based on what scouts have said.

I've seen some say he could play short.

I mean, I'm not saying I agree or disagree with it, just saying it's out in the ether.

Well maybe because he did it for 1 season at that level for starters

So if Crews has a better season than Morgan this year, you'll say Crews is better?
