There's the issue: assuming he was capable of learning

Don’t y’all think that the lack of an offensive line hurt any chance of him succeeding? Maybe he was a bit lazy and arrogant, thinking he could get by on talent alone like he did in college but I think he would’ve done better on a team with more talent around him.

This. Did anyone watch his first few games with the Raiders? It was like NFL street out there it was chaos.

Russell Wilson would have flopped in that environment 100% without a defense to prop him up

Pretty sure 350 degree vegetable oil as dinner prep killed Jamarcus.

It was a little bit your fault, Jamarcus.

Russell Wilson wouldn't have been so unprofessional and such a dumbass.

A lack of work ethic and the old CBA doomed Jamarcus.

Take off the purple and gold glasses dude. Yeah, the Raiders were terrible, but so was Jamarcus. He would still be playing if he was worth a damn

Still the greatest arm I have ever seen in person. The guy had an absolute rocket!

I think to be successful with the Raiders or any NFL team, he would have needed to dedicate himself to film study as well as the physical game. Discipline was never a strong suite for Jamarcus.

He sat out refusing to sign so long, he committed football suicide. JM is a cautionary tale of what happens when your agent is a dipshit.

Blame Al Davis. Lane Kiffin wanted Calvin Johnson. He got overruled.

JR was extremely successful. His plan was to make millions without working. He did it.
If he had half the work ethic of Burrow, he would still be in the league.
If he had the "want", there were other teams besides the Raiders who would have given him a shot.
I congratulate him for fulfilling and living his dream.

Any LSU fan knew Jamarcus was a first round talent but nowhere near a top 10 pick (staring down wrs constantly). The Raiders fell in love with his combine videos and well he flopped.

First round arm talent but not first round work ethic, discipline and motivation. The Raiders didn’t fall in love with him, Al Davis fell in love with him. Kiffin didn’t want him.
Jimbo sure as hell didn’t develop him.

Nothing could stop Jamarcus from being a flop.

Jamarcus was amazing in college. I remember we had so many comeback victories between 04 and 07, with Randall, Russell, and Flynn. This season was amazing, but those early Miles years I had a ton of fun.

It's not Jamarcus fault.

It’s 100% his fault. There’s a story about his coaches giving him a dvd of plays. They asked him to watch them and the next day they asked him which plays did he like and his response was all of them. It was a blank dvd.

JaMarcus Russell was dumb as a bag of hammers and lazy as hell. He was his own worst enemy.

Have you ever watched the neanderthal that lives amongst us named Carson Wentz?
