If I had billions to donate to LSU Athletics, there are 3 people who I would demand be removed from the AD: Joe Alleva and Bo Bahnsen are my top 2. Not disclosing the 3rd right now because he/she has nothing to do with Joe or Bo and the circus they're running.

Translation: a bunch of people who frick up pretty much everything they touch, so are placed in a position that’s supposed to get them out of the way, but inexplicably grants them virtually unlimited authority.

New edit from McKay:

2ND EDIT: Source at LSU says Miriam Segar had nothing to do with the false start this morning and that they're still working on a meeting. No word yet on how late Wade could be reinstated and still coach on Thursday.

Bottom line is these tools are looking for reasons to keep WW off the court, instead of looking for ways to keep him out there.

Compliance does not absolutely have to have an adversarial relationship with the athletic programs.

It can function in a way that actually benefits the university while still performing their essential job duties.

LSU should start from scratch and hire a compliance director from a major healthcare company and allow actual professionals to install a culture in compliance that is mutually beneficial.

What LSU has now is essentially the kid who got picked on and beaten up all throughout his school years becoming a cop in a small town police department with no accountability. He (the department in the analogy) has an axe to grind with society and takes out his years of pent up frustration on those over whom he now has power.

The following is dependent on a level of cunning and competence (or just blind effing luck for that matter)that all sides seem to be lacking in this matter...that being said:

could the trigger for this whole scenario be caused by a leak out of compliance?

So basically he just lost all credibility from here on out.

It never made sense that an associate AD somehow purportedly had the power to shut the whole operation down while the actual AD just sat there helpless.

The entire compliance department needs to be replaced now if not sooner.

This was an intentional strategy play by Alleva and F King to deflect blame from themselves and onto something else.

So there’s basically no single person accountable. Now “it’s compliance. We are just being compliant”.

I always felt like the compliance department should function more like in-house council than the first line of the NCAA army. Inform/remind the school where the line is, notify them when they may be getting too close, then protect them from harm (from the NCAA). The school is the client, so don't work against the client's best interest.

Why can't Alleva meet with Wade without compliance and NCAA present and then decide if what was said during the meeting is sufficient to lift the suspension?

Would you trust Alleva to make this call? Ever heard of Duke lacrosse?
