Honest question. Couldn't you find a more recent news article than that one from 2007?

Well, according to one of your Sooner buddies that keeps posting here, the past is very relevant.

By the way, if y'all are the University of Oklahoma, why is it OU and not UO?

They're just kind of backwards like that, too much meth.

There are a lot of schools that abbreviate their names that way. For example, the University of Nebraska is "NU", the University of Kansas is "KU", and so on....

OU frat boys walking around talking about how much they hate the state of Texas.

They shouldn’t slam the state that produces most of the players on their football team!

Lived in Tulsa for a number of years. Had a few good friends who went to OU, but generally an arrogant fan base. Gave no chance to LSU beating them in the 2003 Championship. Still remember Stoops getting all defensive when asked about going up against the top defense pre-game. “They’re the top scoring defense, we’re the top defense”.... Okay Bob.

That was true I was there as well. Oklahoma fans in all fairness were extremely arrogant which lead to a lot of altercations.

Agreed! A buddy of mine was attacked in one of the hotels and bit the attackers finger off at the 2nd knuckle. He was local and made his escape without police involvement. He wasn't looking for trouble but he handled himself.

Claims of dis-respect coming from a group that sports the “horns down” gesture at every moment even when they aren’t playing Texas.

Texas has to be doing something right. They're living in the heads of two other fanbases 24/7 - one of which they haven't even played recently.

I was in NOLA in 04. I felt bad for the OU fans. They got constantly harassed.

I was there too and all the Oklahoma fans we met were really nice and complimented the LSU fans for being so nice and welcoming in what was essentially a home game for us.

We even hung out with a big group of Sooner fans in the Quarter after the game. It was a fun night.

It was an old Big 8 Conference Tradition.
OU, KU, CU, NU, and MU.
The others were "state" univerisites. Someone asked about that RE: CU on a sports-radio talk show not too long ago, and none of the three hosts knew the answer!

So, shall we label all OU fans as crotch-grabbing assholes for what a few idiots did to this guy??

________________________________________________

Since we're talking about a few OU fan experiences from a 2004 game, I'd say 2007 is not "outdated". I live up here and get along fine with almost all Okies - but, I'm a nice guy who gets along with almost everyone who's halfway decent and respectful of others. I have a lot of OU friends, but I must say that the OSU crowd is much less consumed with themselves.

I'm 62 and in all my years following LSU, I've never seen a more humorless, uptight, and unlike-able fan base as the Sooner fans when LSU won 21-14.

And I'm talking before, during and especially after the game.

I think this game will be a good opportunity for OU fans to get reacquainted with LSU fans. Both fan bases have their assholes, but by and large, its two great groups of people. OU fans (at least the ones not on message boards) aren't expecting a win here, so expectations will be low. I have a feeling after this game that both fan bases will like the other more than before.

You forget that liquor will be in the mix. Ain't gonna be any holding hands and singing kumbaya.

I agree with TigersOfGeauxld - I asked one why they were so mad and they said it was because our fans were having so much fun and kept calling them Tiger Bait!!
