I think one can reasonably argue that it was not probable that Lee would have won the Alabama game this year as the sole QB. Bama's defense has been incredibly tough this year.

No, he's not. Nothing personal against him, but he's not a good QB.

I think JJ gives us a better chance to win out.

Why is that?

Because he can run? What about the fact that he can't read a defense to save his life and his passing ability is worse than a lot of high school QBs out there?

Yes, I honestly think so. Hell, I think we're 10-0 if Mett had started. This team is THAT good. And the new offensive coaches and scheme make it very difficult for any of our QBs to totally F it all up.

Sometimes you have to be a bit hyperbolic to get the idiots off the Lee better than JJ and vice versa stupidity.

This is obviously an exercise in speculation, but I don't believe we would be undefeated if JJ had started every game. I believe we would have lost to WVU. Lee was nothing short of spectacular in that game, especially in the first half when WVU was having success stopping the run. He converted two critical third and longs early in the game, fired a bullet to Randle for a touchdown, and then lofted a long pass to ODB on play action.

It's time to unleash Mettenberger and pull the redshirt off JRandal. This would be a much better passer/passer-runner combo as well as the greatest thing for the Rant since Miles.

I don't think so. It was apparent in the WKU game. JJ has trouble sustaining drives. Missing passes on key 3rd downs has always been one of his problems.

This board thrives on discussions revolving around topics that no one will ever know with any degree of certainty.

Doesn't mean the topics can't or shouldn't be discussed. Probabilities and possibilities are at the heart of many sports discussions.

I think it's pretty clear that there has only been one game this year in which LSU needed a particular QB.

Were we 10-0 last year at this time? NO, and the only reason we didn't have 3 losses was b/c of another quarterback not mentioned in your title. The defense wins games, but it's pretty damn hard to win every game while your qb runs around like he's playing kiss n chase!

Simple, not a chance in hell that we would be 10-0

I have one word for all of us ---- "Defense" --- Its not Lee or Jefferson that made this season.

our D scored points in almost every-game and gave us the ball back at half field almost every time.

No reason to have a love affair with either Lee or Jefferson.

Don't marry one versus the other, marry the team.

True enough.

Defense, special teams, and running the ball.

There were few games where the QB really had to do much of anything to clinch the victory.

We ran all over teams in the second half of games. We beat every team, except Bama, by nearly two touchdowns, usually doubling or more the other team's score.

There wasn't a single game that required an exceptional effort from the QB. LSU is more than sound in all phases of the game.

They all require a manager though, and Lee has done awesome at that. I can't say that for JJ in any game. He's had good games, but very few. He's never managed a game in his LIFE

You're anchored in the past. You need to let it go.

Crowton is gone. He left to ruin Maryland's QBs.

There wasn't a game in 2011 that Jefferson could not have won.

Not true. The D held after those picks. Lee can be a streaky player and I think you discount the entire teams ability to make plays with a statement like that.
