As H2O Tiger pointed out - there's a lot of good info being passed around but it's all over the place, so shall we try to consolidate our efforts?

So, let's go over it all again...oh, and this is not the thread to talk about whether or not the game is going to get canceled.

Where are you staying, drinking, eating, drinking, golfing, drinking, eating, tailgating, drinking, etc.

Here are some tips from others in this thread:

thotpocket (great name, btw):

UBERs will be expensive as hell. Prepare for a huge price gouge and limited availability if this is your transportation plan.

**also bring masks, they won't let you ride without one

Bruin2010:

I mentioned this in another thread, but the road team alumni associations usually have a hosted pregame party at the clubhouse for Brookside golf course, right in the middle of the main tailgating areas. Something to look into if you want TVs and a full bar close to the stadium.

You can technically spend the afternoon in Old Town and walk a mile or so to the stadium, but the tailgate experiences on the golf course or lot H are a pretty unique setting in college football, I would recommend either renting a car and setting up your own tailgate or find someone who is hosting one.

I'm happy to answer any other questions about the gameday experience if you have them.

MIKEYtheTIGER:

For those asking about parking... I usually take the train (Gold Line) into Pasadena. There's a bus shuttle within walking distance of the "Memorial Park" Gold Line stop, that goes to the Rose Bowl during games. It's always been free whenever I've gone to games there.

TRAIN

It's a long line, but it moves pretty quickly as they have a ton of busses on a constant traffic free loop.

mshanas:

The furthest parking spots are not all that far from the stadium. But just like any other game 3 or 4 hours before kickoff should be okay. But people will start showing up much earlier than that.

General Parking
Parking in Lot H and Brookside Park and Golf Course are sold by the City of Pasadena for $25 per car in advance and $30 on gameday. Lots open six (6) hours prior to kick-off. Visit ticketmaster.com to purchase parking in advance. Handicap parking is available immediately adjacent to the Rose Bowl, and vehicles must display a valid State of California handicapped placard and registration upon entering these lots.

Parsons' Lot Parking and Shuttle Buses
Parking is also available at the Parsons' lot in Pasadena for $18 on game day and features a free round-trip shuttle to and from the Rose Bowl Lot B, beginning 3 hours prior to kick-off and ending 1 hour after the game.

Parking Lot Policies
Overnight parking is prohibited in all Lots.
Parking lots close 90 minutes following the conclusion of the game.
Parking is first-come, first-served. No saving of parking spaces is permitted.
In and out privileges are not allowed.

MemalTheTiger:

As a former Uber driver, I can tell you that there should be little issue with getting dropped off near the stadium on gameday, but afterwards you should expect traffic to clear out a good deal before you can expect an Uber to pick you up if you plan to stick near the stadium. If you're willing to walk towards Pasadena it'll be a lot easier to get picked up as there's a great deal more access in and out of that area.

I'll probably park over there and catch the shuttle that's been shared on this thread or just walk so I don't fight with cars getting out of there.

CalCajun:

some great areas to hang out at in Newport pre partying. Anywhere near Newport pier The world Famous Mutt Lynch's and a little Bar row on the boardwalk is lots of fun with plenty of talent. The Beach Ball, Sharkys, Mutts all within 100 yds of each other. Several not on the board walk. Malarkeys, The Helmsman (a favorite) Woodys(overlooking the harbor) Newport is a good time. Huntington Beach up the road is just as lively, but can get squirrely later in the eve. Lots of alcohol fueled young testosterone, and stupidity can show up but still safer than Bourbon street. Great bars on HB Main street Perqs, Freds, the longboarder, and an upper scale awesome food experience is DUKES at the pier.

For the people considering that new flight United put in for the game - the price when I checked was over $450 from BTR to LAX

That's honestly pretty cheap for a cross-country flight from BTR, especially considering they know they can fill it. I paid slightly less than that for my Delta DFW-LAX flights.

EDIT: It's $389 in Economy right now

Uber
Would there be any concerns on getting Uber or Lyft prior to the game or after the game? I have no experience in this area.

A buddy and I are arriving Friday, staying in Manhattan Beach, and flying back out on Sunday.

Will most likely just stay in MB Friday night if anyone is in the area and wants to buy me dinner/drinks. I'll make my buddy give you a handie for the effort.

I'm concerned about getting out, but we're all in our 20's so worst case we can just head back to the bar and wait it out.

Has anyone who ordered their tickets from SeatGeek received them? Mine are still saying they will be transferred when available, but I may not be able to go anymore and I would like to relist them if possible

There are bars by the stadium? I didn’t think there was anything there. It’s by a golf course and close to a lot of houses.

For those trying to avoid LAX (because LAX sucks ballllsssss), Ontario is another airport that should have easier access and less traffic to Pasadena.

John Wayne/Orange County is an airport of choice as well.

Burbank-Hollywood is another good option. Closest airport to downtown LA/Hollywood and Pasadena

Flying in Thursday night, staying at JW Marriott downtown (team hotel), flying out Monday afternoon, no set plans yet. Trying to convince our group to fly into Vegas Thursday, drive to LA Saturday, then fly out of LA Monday

Also, I know there is a rail line that goes from downtown to Pasadena that would be a good option for getting to/from game, unsure of how far the station is from the stadium though

I was blown away at how nice Manhattan Beach is. My wife and I were there with our daughter in May. Culture Brewing is a great place to hang out and drink beer. Uncle Bill's for breakfast is excellent. Sugarfish if you're into Sushi- we ate there. Manhattan Beach Post and Love & Salt both came highly recommended, but I didn't get to go. You picked the right location to stay.

John Wayne (Orange County) is way out there. Here's a map of all the LA Area airports for reference.
