Speaking hypothetically, let's say Coach O did "meddle" in the offense from the start of the season

I don't know when he started to meddle in the offense, but he did admit to it at around the end of September.

happened 4 mths ago, last season. Move on. God.

We have people that are still foaming at the mouth and still grilling the previous head coach for a loss in the National Championship Game 6 fricking years ago, to a Bama program that has been head and shoulders the top program in the country for the past 8 or 9 years, and you think people should move on from the loss to Troy, that happened just 4 short months ago.

Good luck with that.

I am not defending the man... but I dont remember hearing that. I do remember the "we gonna hire the best coordinators" mantra but I dont think anyone ever said he was abdicating his authority.

Do you think any other HC in the SEC or other P5 for that matter is doing that?

Look here's the deal...if O wants to meddle in an offense he doesn't understand then so be it. He is HC that's his right to do so. However, don't turn around (not saying you did) and say Canada's coaching sucks when he isn't getting to call the shots.

O did some OK things this year and screwed up some too. It's all on him now. He promoted SE who he claims was the best person for the job. That remains to be seen. However it's truly his team now, and he has his coaches. If he bombs next year then no excuses. He needs to go.

I said this the other night, Les kept us at a consistent 9-10 win seasons with much harder SOS to boot. There's no reason we shouldn't be doing at least that well (ideally better) every year. Anything less than 9 wins next year should mean it is time to move on from this experiment.

So what you're saying is in actuality we hired a coach that acts like every other coach, except he knows a lot less than most of them? That's awesome.

Bingo.

it was one year, les did it for years b4 he got canned

Makes you wonder, this was going on yet Alleva gave Cam Cameron a fricking raise.

That's who is in charge. Make the OC one of the highest paid assistants to have the head coach call plays.

What color is the sky in your world? LOTS of LSU fans and Rantards, both, were all over him for meddling. And, deservedly so.

agreed...a coaching staff is not a democracy.

To be fair, O got this gig in part to him saying he would let the coordinators coach. Then he had the balls to do exactly the opposite. I don't hate the guy or think he can't be successful, but if this continues he has to know his arse is gone.

That's the rub. If he hadn't said anything but "we're going to go out there and compete," then no one would be holding him to this.

All any of us have ever done is insist that he be held accountable for what he said. He promised the best coordinators, and that he'd let them do their jobs. He admitted he meddled. No one made that up.

I'm not reading through another one of these threads, but I'm certain it is full of thoughtful and reasonable debate.

Fresh take

My thoughts exactly. It seems kinda odd that someone would wake up on the morning of January 28 and wonder about this.

My "to-do" list for today looked something like this:

1) Wake up
2) Shower
3) Eat
4) Go to work

19,453,298) Worry about Ed Orgeron meddling in an offense that won't see the field for 7 months.

It's actually funny to see how desperate people are with all the rumor mills. No one knows what the hell they're talking about anymore. No idea

Do you read this board at all? He's been shite on here since the Troy game for his meddling. He definitely doesn't have a "pass" on the rant.

You have to put these on your "to do" list? I bet you think O has done a fine job and that he will continue to improve the program.

The thing is O doesn't want to be involved in the offense. He'd rather have someone he's comfortable with calling the offense, which is why he is turning to Ensminger.

Les clearly had the hands on the offense throughout his time at LSU.

I don't think O knows what he wants. That's why he's in over his head.

I think it's a myth as you rarely saw him with a playsheet, but at least he was previously an OC, while Ed......not even a DC.
