I think it’s a bit too soon to make that claim. In the eyes of most of the nation, what happens tomorrow night is all that matters.

Miles was a stubborn douche. You people go on like he did this job for free. We owe him nothing. You think Alleva just made that shite up about him saying he is stubborn? We missed out on a dynasty because of Miles.

Probably should anchor this thread.

Why the OP (and others) are still obsessed with shitting on our former coach (no matter how flawed) is baffling.

Three and a half years later. Give it up...

I agree. The Les Miles' tenure was a disaster. Never had a coach in the history of college football inherited a football team so loaded up with talent and all we got out of it was only one national championship in 2007, and then it took an act of God for LSU to back their way into that national title game. Thus, LSU became the first and only two-loss natty championship team in the BCS era and a distinction I'm not exactly too proud of to this day.

Had someone else more competent than Les Miles been hired when Nick Saban left, I have no doubt that instead of only one natty during those years, it would have been several nattys. Cause nattys have a way of building onto themselves.

Meanwhile, when Ed O took over as the head coach at LSU after thankfully Les Miles was finally fired, this program was going downhill fast. Thank God Ed O was able to reverse course so fast and despite the fact that he was hated by a large portion of the fan base who hated the fact that he was hired. I'm so happy that he was able to prove all of them wrong and so fast.

Let it go

late to the party but since this thread is here:

i don't think Les stole but he absolutely hampered this program.
i think the athletic director waited way too many years to tell Les to 'fix it or your gone.'

Well..regardless how one might feel about Miles’ legacy..he happens to be the guy who brought O to LSU..just sayin. Personally I thought Les did a great job..but he got too big for his britches and become stubborn to a fault. Ed O on the other hand finally learned his lesson and somehow changed his ways in his late 50s..a pretty rare feat.

It's not Miles fault Saban got the mulligan. We won the game of the century. That was an awesome team. Reminded me a lot of this team. Nobody wanted to play Bama again NOBODY.the Players, coach's,fans. We should have been Crowned National CHAMPIONS. That was a crock of shite. Miles got screwed. We shouldn't ever take anything away from him he was a great guy. Stubborn, very different, but he loved LSU & his Damn strong football team. He shoulda got a new coordinator so yeah it was time but anyway O is awesome and let's just move ahead. Now... We Comin !!!!

You think it’s a good look to call my opinion ignorant when you have been wrong about two eras of LSU football & ive been right about both. That is frickin funny lmao

so you're saying 1 sec title and no NCs(currently, I think he will punch that ticket tomorrow) proves O is a good coach but 2 sec titles,3 west titles, national title and another title game appearance doesnt mean miles was a good coach.

you're too stupid to see your own hypocrisy.

also.....

I said....
-scheme was the biggest problem in 2018
- o was a legit oc away from winning titles
titles
-I said Burrow would solidify himself as one of the best lsu qbs ever
- I said we would lose no more than 1 game in 2019.

You sound like the loser WTF. Miles loved smashmouth old school football. Players loved him. O knew we needed a different offense but I don't think you should dis a coach from Michigan who came to bleed purple and gold. Our last 3 COACHES were all awesome in their own way. So enjoy the present.
