Let him finish out the season, maybe make a run in a tourney somehow, who knows. But we can't keep caving to a whiny fan base.

Have you watched a game lately? Just curious. If you think he can "somehow" make a run in a tourney. You have lost your mind. I think it is okay for a fan base to whine when they are 1-13 and have lost 13 games in a row. Just because a coach has been with a program for a long period of time means we should just be okay with way under sub-par pay? You sound like Joe himself.

Sure. We have a few decent players. Blakeny might the best guards since Marcus Thornton, has a lot of potential. The team plays well but usually does not finish well. The talent isn't there.

Listen, this is what college basketball is now. Gonzaga is the #1 team in the country. Villanova, Baylor... these are not powerhouse programs. It doesn't matter who the Coach is, Coach Jones... nobody is going to fill up the PMAC with mid-major style basketball - scores in the 60s, playing with 4 year starters who aren't going to the NBA. The AD has completely sold out to the SEC network to the point that playing on tv is a non-event. Our conference games have the ambience of preseason warm ups. You can't pin that all on the coach.

So let me guess, now cause of Cal, nobody wants to make mid season hoops changes. NO MATTER HOW BAD THE COACHING IS

Calipari has always been a D-bag. "If I get fired mid season I want 3 million dollars. Every coach go and put that in your contract". Yea it's called a buyout idiot.

What will the response from the fans be if he is not fired? I know everyone I watch games with boycotted them this year so did I and a lot of other fans. What is the next step?

Does LSU benefit from firing him now? Every potential coach in the country knows we have a dumpster fire over here with an opening certain at the end of the season. Unlike football where firing early helps with coaches getting early dibs on jobs, I don't think it's quite as important as this isn't going to be a job that up and coming coaches are going to be clambering for. We are already in debt to Miles for crazy money. Do we want to go the way of the Saints and accumulate more dead money? Football is the cash cow at LSU at 55 million last year. The measly 2 million basketball generates, to me doesn't justify more dead money. I say let JJ ride until the pony is dead, then make a good hire when he isn't owed anything. To be honest, I'm not certain that Aleva is going to make a good hire anyway.

I can't decide if you're 90 years old or 12 years old.

WTF? These programs are good specifically because they have some of the best coaches in the game. Holy cow.

1. It's not knee jerk. We have 2 years of complete garbage to evaluate.

2. A bigger hole than 1-13 in league play? Really?

Really then you are to blame. Fair weather fans. Dude has maybe the best run in his first 5 years despite the lack of talent. How many losing seasons we endured under Brown,Brady,etc..Team looked out of sync wgen Simmons was here, im sure his "interview special" (that many here criticized) really didn't do no favors for the program.1 year to readjust and next year should be a bounce back year.

Lack of talent?

He lost in the first round with 2 NBA players and barely made the NIT with 2 NBA players (first time in like 30 years the #1 pick didnt make the tournament)

There is ZERO positive that can be gained by firing him now, during the season.

Pointless now with only 4 games left. Doesn't matter either way imo.

This best run thing IMHO is so misleading. You have to take into account the shite shows most of the coaches before Jones took over. Jones took over a team that had at least gone to the NIT the year before and had a Parade All-American on his roster from the previous staff.

Most others including Press Maravich, Brady and Brown had absolute crap much worse than what Johnny inheritied. Just because Tuba played 10 minutes a game doesn't mean what he inherited was nearly as bad as most coaches in our history...that's just a fact.
