There was a time when I enjoyed the in-state rivalry with Tulane. After the bullshite Scott Cowen put us through with the LSU Health Science Center's Academic Medical Center in New Orleans, I am opposed to LSU doing anything that has the potential to make money for Tulane. Not only are 90% of LSU's students from Louisiana compared to a pitiful 10% from Tulane, but 80% of the doctors graduating from LSU's Health Science Center are from Louisiana while less than 20% are from Tulane. TUCK FULANE and Scotty boy too. You can't have it both ways Scotty. The Governor is licking his chops for future campaign donations from you and your cronies. But I'll be damn if you ever see another dollar from LSU football for your own political agenda.

They are not happy campers and I would think we all can understand why. The jilted party is rarely happy to have been jilted. I can understand their displeasure.

As both parties to the agreement stated, things/times change and it appears to me that Alleva is placing his stamp on LSU football scheduling.

YAHOO!!!! It's high time we quit supporting their pitiful "athletic program." Good riddance, boring school, boring stupid fans (all 10 of them), boring game. And, I live in New Orleans. I have wanted to dump them for years.

It helped us to play in the dome. I am not sure this is a good move. Why break a contract? Strange if you ask me.

also when the city was bigger, they could more easily root for tulane. now that most of the old tulane fanbase moved out to metairie and wherever, they're the LSU "wal-mart" fans

I'm 35 and I distinctly remember being in 1st grade and there being a single Tulane fan vs. 29ish LSU fans. I've experienced those type of ratios my entire life.

Maybe there was a time when Tulane was more popular, but I've never experienced it. I can say for certainty, Katrina had nothing to do with it.

Very few people care about Tulane.

I hate to say this because I support Louisiana athletics, but dissolving the program appears to be on the horizon. The #20 team in the country comes into "your" stadium and only 5,000 fans showed up. And with the way all universities universally inflate attendance numbers, it may have been 2,000.

The Tulane Titanic that I talked about a few days ago has now hit the big purple and gold ice berg, is taking on water and will be at the bottom soon. (Either dropping football altogether or moving to a smaller division) Though i'll miss beating them, let somebody else besides LSU subsidize their athletic program and keep them afloat....

McNeese is a terrible game to play...they lost to Nicholls 2 of the last 4 years..

we might as well play Nicholls, it saves about half the gas for the poor Southland schools

McNeese gets great rankings and never shows up in the big games...especially at home in the playoffs

But you have to admit, even without Tulane, the out of conference schedules the next few years are a lot better.

Slow down, start over, and try that again so that we have a chance to understand you.
