Better then trying to renovate the PMAC.
Let's hope this doesn't get caught up in politics because if you have ever watched a Metro Council meeting this might be 10 years down the road.

I thought it meant they might need to use river center while building new arena in place of pmac?

I'd assume LSU would have to use Raising Canes River Center for a period of time if they build a new arena

I dont think the new arena would be built downtown

I rather it be done by LSU and on campus. By reading that, I’m not sure where it will be located.

Maybe LSU would be using the River Center while the new arena is built, thereby restricting city use?

Building an arena, need to use the River Center, while you're at approving it, also include details to add more hotel space downtown/adjacent....is what I gather Honkus

Looks like LSU would plan to use the River Center for a period while the new arena is getting built. When Wade was here he initially pushed for a game in the Cow Palace. But he eventually acknowledged the infrastructure was insufficient to host/broadcast a game for both in person and TV purposes.

It would be interesting to see if LSU were to build a new arena at the site of the current PMAC or elsewhere? I suspect the arena would have a max capacity basketball capacity 10-11k modeled after Auburn's arena which is probably the best home environment in the entire SEC

The more fun question is what would it be called?

LSU's been pretty resistant to naming venues after big doners. But with getting the funds for this they might have to

Kim Mulkey Court at O'Neal - McKernan Arena? (colloquially known as "The G spot?")

I agree, they need to take inspiration from new/smaller arena's like Cincinnati, Houston, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Baylor. I think Cincy's is my favorite though.
