Battle may give him a run. And Monroe is talented enough to see PT

I think it'll be Battle. He's much more of a centerfield, deep coverage type of safety than RJ is. He also has good height and great length. Very rangy. Jefferson is good near the LOS and what not, but that's what Adams does and he's just better.

Battle has a diff skillset than those 2 and complement them very well.

Ed Paris might also make a run at that safety spot

Battle will be the 3rd safety on the field, but he's hurt this spring. Eric Monroe will work his way into the rotation as well I believe.

Look for Jefferson and Adams to take the field first against Wisconsin though. If they play well, they'll remain the starters throughout the season.

Adams and battle/Jefferson. I think Adams moves closer to the box in passing downs and 2/3 of either battle, Jefferson, and Monroe.....watch for Paris to get a look at safety this spring as well

Battle or Paris is my guess.

Jefferson's play really started to drop off as the season went on.

I know it is very hard for 'fans' to judge the quality of DB play because they really don't know what they are looking at. Thus the reason for all these who will start at Safety threads.

just to clue you in, starters will be Jefferson and Adams and, barring injuries, neither is going to get beat out.

that's in person. when they watch on TV the fans don't see shite. yet it seems many are still "experts" and don't refrain from being very opinionated. it is very hard to judge individual performance of any player that does not have the football (from watching the tube)

I think you'll see a lot of Tre White at Safety, and Donte Jackson at corner, like we saw in the Bowl Game, and White kind of taking over the Mills role. It will only be certain packages, unless a Safety doesn't Solidify itself...

Maybe I'm the only one, but I like Jefferson. His play reminds me of Brandon Taylor, whom I also liked. Neither were the greatest in coverage, but he's better than I think he gets credit.

With the exception of QB and OL, all the other positions typically have a rotation. I think Adams and Jefferson will start, the rotation spots will be up for grabs with many possibilities. At LSU, if 5 or even 6 guys at a two man position can play without significant drop off in performance, they will play. At least that was the norm with the best Tiger defenses.

Jefferson was in the rotation his first two years and played very well. Last year with the Mills injury, he even played more and started the first half and played well. He dropped off some toward the end of the season, but if he was "knicked" and could play, we as fans wouldn't know this. Similar to the Harris hernia which we didn't know about until he underwent a procedure after the bowl game.

Taylor was good in coverage. The problem is you had peterson, tm7, ron brooks, claiborne at cb. So he was moved to safety.

Brandon Taylor was pretty damn good playing the 2deep zone.

Helps when you have lockdown corners on the outside playing man.

I really hope Paris is moved to Safety, its his only shot at PT, most thought he would be a S, I also like the idea of Tre playing some Safety, I don't think the Safety rotation will be set in stone til SEC play, Battle has all the tools. Monroe will work his way onto the field. Being an EE, Saivion will play more each week, great problem to have, we have 5-6 guys that can play

What's the word on Russel Gage? Just lost in the shuffle?

Gosh, we are deep in the secondary
