Who's putting down money on the Tigers to win it this year?
I did a couple of weeks ago with some free bet money i had
$40 on them at +1600, and i put $40 on JD to win the Heisman at +1100, which i figured would kind of go hand in hand. Would win $1000.
Also, the guy that i follow for betting using his models always puts out his best bets for championships in every sport. His pick for football:

I put 50 bucks on them in Vegas this spring at +2000

Got them at +1600 in January for $80. Had LSU at +800 in CWS and won that! Why the hell wouldn't you take LSU at +1500? Great value.

I put $100 on LSU to win the title at +1600.
$100 on Jayden Daniels to win the Heisman at +1400.

If Daniels can rediscover how to throw a deep ball then this is a good bet

Chicken needs to create a Paramutual betting board... so I can skin all the over-zealous homers.

LSU is a top 4 betting odds to win it, and JD is 2nd. I wouldn't call that over-zealous homer betting.
They are good bets, and on top of it, it's really fun to have that in the background of your happiness as your team wins. The only part that sucks is having to hedge the bet in the championship game if it gets to that point. Having to place a bet for UF to win Game 3 made me feel dirty, but i had to do it.

I’ve only placed two sports wagers in Vegas in my life. I bet LSU to win the NC and Burrow to win the Heisman the week before the Bama game. Needless to say, the odds shifted dramatically after that game. I only bet $50 each so I kept the tickets as a souvenir instead of cashing them.

I believe they shot up to +1000 now

I don't gamble, but I would imagine Daniels for Heisman is a pretty good bet.
Guy on the radio mentioned, Caleb Williams is listed as the favorite, but ignore him because you don't see repeat winners. Daniels has been mentioned a good bit, and LSU is expected to be a contender, so those things work in his favor. He's got the favorable schedule (early matchup vs Fla State, midseason vs Alabama) to get momentum.
Figure in his known running ability, he will make plays with his legs too; and the talk about being hesitant to throw last season... if he's more decisive this year, that will be magnified and a topic of discussion.
Things are really laid out for him to at least go to New York, if you look at it.

Really not sure what could be driving the odds right now besides money. Between Spring and now, LSU's national championship odds have dropped from about +1600 down to +1000 to +1200.
Daniels's Heisman odds have dropped from +2000 down to about +1200. All without a down of football being played.
Eta current Heisman odds from FanDuel.

Probably because Louisiana has mobile app betting and a lot of states that have legal sports betting at physical sports books don't. Easier access for LSU fans than many other teams fans have. You often see bad odds/lines on Louisiana teams because of money moving the odds/lines on futures and games against teams in states without mobile betting or sports betting at all.

Isn't this the guy over half this board wanted benched last year?

Good luck on your bets! Longshots are what made Vegas.
I happened to be in Vegas when LSU played Texas back in 2019. We stayed at the New York, New York and I watched the game in the sports book area with a bunch of Texas fans. (They were actually a pretty fun group to hang with.)
My wife and I were up about $700 playing roulette and craps, so I decided to place some silly bets at the sports book. Put $100 on LSU to win the natty and $50 on Borrow to win the Heisman. Guess what... We had to go back to Vegas a few months later. I don't remember the exact odds, but I collected a little over $21,000 total. Son-of-a-bitches 1099'd me.
