In all fairness, the kid never really wanted to come to LSU. He was originally committed to A&M but then reopened his recruitment. Even after he reopened his recruitment he was never really an LSU lock as he was always visiting right up to the last minute when he committed to Clemson.

I've tried to get this out, but here's the skinny. His mom and Dabo's wife were in college together and bffs. Basically roomies

O came in and did all he could to make him feel wanted, and they acknowledge that, but the relationship was too strong with mom and wife....case closed

I can remember his recruitment and how it was discussed on the recruiting board at that time . There was a clear narrative that Akers was better . Ettiene got the most attention when people started saying “ Saban wants him” and then again after Akers declared for FSU. But he was never seen as a true difference maker like Akers. Then there was a non stop push for him. O made the hard late push , Clemson came in even later and he was gone .
