Didn't see the game. How'd he do??

It happens every year with only 25 schollies give or take, if we cherry pick top end talent from across the country that does not leave many spots left for LA only kids. Meaning every year good, SEC caliber maybe even if they develop All-SEC caliber talent going to other schools.
People that do not follow recruiting simply see after in college how great they do and that they are from LA so obviously the coaching staff gets painted as idiots. When in reality projecting kids 2-3 years down the road is one of if not the hardest thing to do when it comes to college coaching.
Etienne was a little different in any other year he would have probably signed before his senior year even began. But with a talent like Cam Akers and already having CEH in the fold it made sense at the time.

He looked like Guice and Fournette wrapped up in one, with the moves and audacity of Sam McGuffie.

Ask Les Miles, he can tell you exactly why it happened. Hint: the player Miles wanted is now playing for Clemson's arch nemesis the Florida State Seminoles.

Per a family member, verbatim.....”he’s looking for the best deal and wants to go out of state”.
So yeah, he was never coming here, regardless of what the supposed gurus claim.

I begged last December, but noooooooooooooooooo, Akers is the one. Well, of he had preferred LSU until more or less...you know the rest of the story.
All time leading rusher at JHS that had stood since 1962...that person played cornerback at LSU...take a guess.
Man I wanted to see that kid at LSU. So, how is Cammy doing anyway?

I think Juluke was the main guy pushing for Etienne since the beginning.
Don't know about that, but all you had to do with this young many was look at him and compare to Akers or Helaire and it was a done deal...heart and effort.

Wrong Roger, he would have come here until too many of a certain group started the "he plays against lesser competition" in his junior year. He wanted LSU all the way until that year.
You stand on a football field on the sidelines and watch that young man perform and there would have been no doubt between Etienne/Akers/Helaire. Should have had an offer at beginning of junior year; period, end of story.
We will regret this for years.

He simply was not coming here, no shame in that. Props
Give a frame of reference of time and I'll tell you if you are correct.

I feel like we are just going to pot. How have we slipped so far so fast - and all that money paid out over the years i.e. all those $9 cokes at the concession stand.
We want to be entertained, have the want to win, eat as many hot dogs as we can stand it . . . while paying good money. Why can we not get a good, stable product on the field ? It's like government is running the dag gum football team and the adminstration office. All going to pot.

Etienne had a choice: beat Syracuse this year or lose to Syracuse this year. He made his decision

I sure hope this is sarcasm.

Yep.
We see a similar understanding of Dak - 'how'd he get away' while we were slogging through Jennings/Harris.

He wanted to play for a better program with a better coach. Visit Clemson....not hard to see why kids would go there.

“Visit Clemson...not hard to see why kids would go there.”
I don’t know about now, but I passed through 10-20 years ago and that place was a dump...shockingly so.

This was all about cam Akers. It didn't work.
Please botch about this when we don't have sufficient talent at RB.

I heard we sent an idiot who was only hired to get Fournette here. This RB coach idiot told Etienne he needed LSU more than LSU needed him.
