Kirk Herbstreit has to be on the top of the list
Kirk is pretty knowledgeable unlike Robert Smith.
He has also g gotten off the Ohio St at all costs mentality. Very fair w LSU, first person to bump up TM7 to Heisman.

First thought after reading the firs three words of the subject line... Robert Smith.

For some historical perspective I offer:
Keith Jackson:
"That was a great run by Jimbo Pickens but as my grandma used to say 'ya can't milk goats with a pair of tweezers on a Wednesday if it's raining."

Personally?
Spencer Tillman. Some of the stuff he says irks me occasionally, but he has a weird schtick as well. And he wears a ton of makeup.
Holtz doesn't bother me. I actually kinda like him. He's entertaining and I realize that he's SUPPOSED to be. What he says doesn't amount to a hill of beans so I don't let it bother me, same with most other guys.
Same with Robert Smith. Really...who is Robert Smith? He's an analyst. Big deal.

On TV, I'd agree. When he does radio interviews, he's actually pretty good. VERY honest, but good.

Spencer Tillman makes some strange predictions, but he usually gives credit if he's proven wrong. Unlike...
Robert Smith - this moron predicted an easy Alabama win. Now he's saying Bama was really the better team and they should...you guessed it, win easily.
Gary Danielson - Not sure if ya'll realize this, but Ware is not in the same class as Richardson.
Mark May - Said last game Alabama played like LSU and LSU played like Alabama because Bama made mistakes and LSU didn't. Which couldn't be further from the truth. Just makes me wonder exactly how much football these 'experts' watch.

That's what is surprising to me. All the ESPN stooges are so obviously just delivering whatever the current Disney/ABC/ESPN corporate messaging is, but the CBS guys seem to be more real and honest. It's almost as if they were actually giving serious analysis and commentary.

Yeah. Like I said, I don't really hate him, his excessive makeup just annoys me

"Same class" might be a bit extreme, but Richardson is a better back. Richardson averages 2 more YPC in conference than Ware. He's a bigger threat in the passing game as well. On top of that, Richardson is way more important to Alabama than Ware is to LSU. Teams gameplan around shutting Richardson down and he still puts up those numbers.

I am still awaiting word on how Craig James figures into the homicides of the five prostitutes ...
He' s entitled to a presumption of innocence, right?
So until then, Imma gonna go wif PAAAWWWWWWL!

Robert Smith closely followed by Mark May and Todd Blackledge.

Anyone that doesn't pick Craig James' snively, slimy arse doesn't know what they're talking about.
Craig James' continued employment cost people their jobs & livelihood, & will ultimately cost Texas Tech & ESPN MILLIONS that they'll have to pay to Mike Leach.
Dude hired a PR firm to leak information to Joe Schad-who came off snively himself by accepting it & spouting off about it-during the whole Mike Leach Texas Tech thing.
Texas Tech used him and he used his son to screw Mike Leach-the most successful coach they've ever had-out of a job, & Bruce Feldman of ESPN got screwed over & left the company because of the whole mess.
Robert Smith & Lou Holtz are Sandusky Choirboys compared to Craig James.
This.
