Anyone that doesn't pick Craig James' snively, slimy arse doesn't know what they're talking about.

Craig James' continued employment cost people their jobs & livelihood, & will ultimately cost Texas Tech & ESPN MILLIONS that they'll have to pay to Mike Leach.

Dude hired a PR firm to leak information to Joe Schad-who came off snively himself by accepting it & spouting off about it-during the whole Mike Leach Texas Tech thing.

Texas Tech used him and he used his son to screw Mike Leach-the most successful coach they've ever had-out of a job, & Bruce Feldman of ESPN got screwed over & left the company because of the whole mess.

Robert Smith & Lou Holtz are Sandusky Choirboys compared to Craig James.

^This. Robert Smith a close second.

Craig James is a giant douche even though I find him to be pro-LSU a lot. I just can't get over what they did to Leach.

Robert Smith is an obvious choice. I almost think he is wrong all the time because he chooses to be a contrarian. Statistically, its almost impossible to be as wrong and off base as he is with his predictions.

Guess I'm lucky I've never seen this Robert Smith then.
Who is he?

Nobody, but nobody, has an anti-LSU bias like Holtz. It's so obvious it's comical. He has never picked LSU to win any game, no matter how big the point spread. He's a joke, truly.

It seems like you guys hate everybody if they don't suck on LSU's knob with every breath.

My new favorite to hate is Jason Seahorn! I was a fan of him as a player but I see how detached he is from the SEC and he fails as an "Expert".

Did you even read the title of the post?

Personally, I'm just calling out an obviously biased individual (Holtz). Far cry from hating him... more like laughing at a joke. I really could care less when one of these guys have a valid point.

I'll name one who is better respected than most named in the thread. And I name Keith Jackson for something he said during the 2003 season USC/Michigan Rose Bowl game. He said he was sending in his ballot with USC #1 without watching the LSU/OU game and encouraged others to do the same. Which was all sorts of ridiculous.

First off, if he didn't have it in him to even consider OU or LSU at that point then he doesn't take his job as a voter very seriously... or perhaps more likely was too blinded by his longstanding affiliation with PAC 10 football to be even moderately objective.

It makes a joke of the whole idea of expressing an informed opinion to anoint a opinion poll champion. The prerequisite for that type of poll having legitimacy is the voters being as informed as possible. Stating your intent to avoid relevant information is the intentionally stating your intent to make your opinion poll without value.

We really need a new thread titled "tired worn out, beat down football analyst comments"

Well Jim what does LSU have to do to beat bama?

John they must not turn the ball over and absolutely have to get 1st downs........

This kinda shite drives me fkn nuts. WELL NO shite MAN. Might as well say they have to get more points than bama at the end of game.

As everyone else has said, I can't stand Robert Smith. I also dislike when David Pollack is one the screen. I think he's a frickin idiot, and has no business trying to be an analyst. Mark May doesn't bother me at all, he's always going against Lou so he gets a pass for me.

The answer is Robert Smith. But I'll address some others:

Lou Holtz - He's obviously there for entertainment. Anybody who takes him seriously probably takes a lot of things too seriously.

Herbstreit - He's usually ok. But I've found that this year he's flip-flopped on different issues. He's just inconsistent.

Danielson - Seriously, the very best color analyst in all of sports. A wealth of knowledge while watching the game. He's sometimes brutally honest. Some people hate him because he's critical of their team, but he's fair in his criticisms. I know this is true because every SEC fanbase has people that say, "Danielson hates my team, wah wah wah." Now, during blowouts when the game becomes less of a topic, his opinions can get out there at times, I'll concede that.

Mark May - like Herbstreit, he flip-flops and is inconsistent. Sometimes seems informed, sometimes seems clueless.

Pollack - Seems to just spout cliches and doesn't offer much.

Palmer - Solid for the most part.

Kornheiser/Wilbon/Anybody on Around the Horn - Who cares. They're there for entertainment only. They just spout one side of a debate and don't have any real knowlede of the sport.

I dont care who he is for or against..Papadakis is an annoying mofo...in addition, if he is on a national broadcast he should have no bias no matter where he went to school!

1)Robert Smith. It ain't close.

Regarding the others, and as others have mentioned, it's all for show.

May used to actually be one of my favorites. Then ESPiN paired him in this ridiculous weekly routine with Holtz, and suddenly he's annoying as frick. Even if I agree with him, he's still annoying as frick. What a joke.

Herbie is a good broadcaster, but to say he suddenly started flip flopping this year is also a joke.

Brent Musberger has been one of my least favorite people in life since about 1984.

Craig James doesn't rank any higher than this because he's irrelevant to college football analysts. He's a giant douche, though.

Danielson is actually one of the better ones. LSU fans got all pissed when he told the truth about Ware not being in the same class as Trich. He's not. Get over it. Right about now, Ware isn't in the same class as Hilliard.

Verne and Lou get the old guy pass.

Jesse Palmer is good, and I wish he was more involved in real games.

Pam Ward...I would rather drive screwdrivers in both my ears than hear her calling a game.

Pollack doesn't bother me much.

Erin Andrews gets hotter and hotter.

Tracy Wolfson is fugly.
