When a player signs to play with LSU, they will be with the team until they either graduate or go the NFL (exception the Perriloux's of the world). With a professional team, a player may only be with a team for one year and then they go to the highest bidder the next year. It is hard to identify with so many free agents. This is especially true after a team wins the Super bowl.

This along with the fact that pro teams have moved many times (Colts, Rams, Oilers/Titans, Raiders). I like the Green Bay Packers because the fans of Green Bay own that team. Who's to say that a few years from now Benson doesn't sell the team to a billionaire in Los Angeles?

Money talks more than anything else. She wouldn't have to leave. I don't think they will right now but just a few years ago there were constant threats by Tom.

More saints fans by far in LA and the USA, even before this season. And I'll add, they more passionate, which says a lot given LSU's ferocious fanbase

Well the site is Tigerdroppings with a Saints board not Saintdroppings with an LSU board, so that would lend itself to the idea that LSU is #1.

cuz we al know there are no stand alone NOLA saints sites.

Which is not something that is going to help your argument. The fact that 5+ years ago they could not consistently sell out a mere 70k seats would sort of point to it not having as many fans...

Plus Tiger Stadium seats about 20,000 more and will be added onto again in the future.

or marquee and star players may stay 10 or more years in the NFL.

Okay, you won me over. LSU has the most fans, the best fans of any sport--ever.

Man, take off your P and G glasses. The Saints rule this state and always will. There are far more NFL fans than CF fans anyway. Look at the playoff ratings vs. BCS bowl ratings.

Nevermind, LSU has more and better fans than all NFL fans combined.

He's an SC fan and many of them had great disdain for the pro teams that played at the Coliseum. Was talking to a couple of them yesterday and they just don't care for pro-football, especially after the mess the Raiders fans created in the Coliseum.

Not sure what USC has to do with this thread. I love in BR LA and was raised mostly in BR as well. The other part might be true though, as there are a great many LSU fans that don't care for NFL football. They too had great disdain for a certain NFL team that played in Tiger stadium. How quickly you forgot huh?

Had the Saints moved to San Antonio, we would've eventually gotten over it.

If somebody tried to disband LSU Athletics, we'd burn this state to the ground....

Well, like LSU is to Louisiana, there are many more SC fans in California than there are for the Chargers, Raiders or 49ers.

True!! Look at our reaction about the band last year when it was announced they weren't going to Seattle.

Mariner , you are wrong. The vast majority of people in southwest Louisiana are LSU fans and the majority never went to LSU. Many never went to college. People in Acadiana love LSU. Most of us from Acadiana love LSU and the Saints. I bet the majority of fans in Tiger Stadium never went to LSU. Back when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's I bet the majority in Tiger Stadium never went to college.

Might be true just because of the number of NFL teams. But were talking about LSU fans and saints fans. And there are just more saints fans in LA than LSU fans. The P and G drinkers have a hard time seeing that though. "some" feel treatened by the Saints. No Saints fans feel threatened by LSU.
