USCTangerine, you are losing what little credibility you had left.

I was listening to arguements people were making and I still think LSU by far. I went to LSU and many people I met at LSU liked a different NFL team. I met a lot of cowboys fans, a number of falcons fans and so on. Also I see much more LSU flags and bumper stickers throughout the state of Louisiana then I see Saints stuff. I really think people are really excited that the Saints won but you will find more LSU fans. Plus LSU has multiple sports which reaches different fan basis Saints only have football.

thats a good point, but this whole argument is really just about football

but i guess when someone is a big baseball fan for instance they are automatically half arse football fans at the minimum

i didnt know i would offend so many lsu fans by posing the question

Therein lies the rub. Some LSU fans are threatened by the Saints for some biarre reason and simply either can't see or can't handle the truth. Next they are gonna say LSU fans are more passionate.

I didn't see where everyone was offended. Mostly they answered the question (albeit differently than you thought they would) and called this Trojan fruit out on his mis-statment(s) of the facts.

I grew up in Louisiana (BR) but have lived in 5 other major cities outside the state and traveled all over the country. LSU fans have watch parties EVERYWHERE and its just not that way for the Saints.

The bandwagon filled up this year for the Saints and that's fine but I'm a bonafied X-bag head and my love for the Tigers is far deeper than what I feel for the Saints.

I couldn't be happier right now for the saints but it isn't close to 2003, 2007 for me.

I know A LOT of people that feel the same way.

But the bottom line is, there is no reason to beat down either one, we can love them both.

Link of those facts you are talking about? There is ample info that NFL football has more of a following that CF.

Of course Saints, it's a sad reality fans in the south hate to admit, but the NFL is so much more popular than college football it's not even close. I personally prefer the college game, but that's just the way it is

I live in Tampa too, but am diehard LSU and Saints. Most of the LSU families I know here are both, although most are from LA.

Don't know about LA, but here in TN, we have no problem getting groups together to watch LSU or Saints games. We'are all both here, and we all pull together.

To the O.P.--I'm too lazy to look up the demographic numbers, but poll the African Americans in Louisiana and ask which team they like better.

There's your tipping point.

LSU fans by far. Excitement now surrounding the Saints victory in the Super Bowl but you have a lot of bandwagon fans because they won. Glad they did, but the reality is after the excitement dies down, LSU has a lot more fans. Just compare the venues , Superdome about 72,000 compared to Tiger Stadium close to 100,000. I dont think Saints drew near that much when they used Tiger Stadium during the Katrina year. Certainly not taking anything away from the Saints, just believe there are many more Tiger fans right now. Could change in numbers if we really dont begin to crank it up. and geaux saints

Better question, which team has a "better" or more loyal fanbase? That answer is easy.
