You are assuming the a priori probability of State beating LSU approaches 50%. I'm not sure that's true.

I dont even know how State will manage to beat USM twice today.

They used Pilkington for 113 pitches yesterday, he cant pitch today. They used McQuary for 99 pitches yesterday, he cant pitch today. Plumlee threw 60 pitches on Friday and 56 pitches yesterday...do they even think about pitching him today?

That's their Top 3 guys in terms of IP. Today basically they just have to go full johnny wholestaff over TWO games.

Sports in general it's difficult to beat the same team multiple times per year, especially if both teams are quality teams. HAVING to beat State twice more, going 5/6 or 6/6 against them, that's a tall order, no matter how great LSU is playing right now, or how bad, supposedly, State's pitching is.

It could be overrated but USM still hasn't played in an evironment like the Box. Moo State has. I would still say it makes a difference.

I remember when we made fun of Stony Brook for playing in a ballpark that only seats 1,000.

You think this stuff doesn't matter? Really?

Using past results (good results for that matter) as a barometer rather than skill/talent/matchups is one of the dumber things I've seen on this board...

Ehhh I put more stock in the tangible. Southern is better than State. The multiple times in the same year argument doesn't hold up when the other option is just a better team.

I understand that argument, but Moo State has a roster that gets exposed during the postseason. Their showing in the SEC tournament, & 1st round loss to South Alabama is no fluke. They don't have the pitching to compete in multi-game venues.

They can potentially beat any team in the nation if it's just a single game, but they aren't built for the long haul. Their lack of pitching eventually exposes them.

I don't care who wins - just want them (weather?) to drag it on as long as possible. Two straight 13 inning games suits me just fine

Brook, Stony

Dudes hit a ton. 9 runs, 10 runs. I dont think they were intimidated by the nice stadium or happy crowd.

When you are standing in the batters box, you focus.

I never heard the crowd. Just an audio blur. My gf told me she cheered for me, and wanted me to validate. She was close to field. Didnt know she was at the game.

Don't care. That said, small colleges love to beat up on LSU lately in regional/supers. The intimidation factor has been lost here for years now. We use to be invincible now we get bullied by the small college teams.

I'd rather play State. They're so obviously flawed.

I really doubt it happens though.
