Missed LSU Classes

LSU just cancelled fall break and will have students go to school on a Saturday TBD to make up lost time. Ouch.

This email I just got:
The LSU family hopes this communication finds you safe and making progress toward recovery. Isaac left its mark on the LSU campus, but the damage was minimal. We are making rapid progress towards restoring function and form.
Classes will resume on Friday, August 31. Unfortunately we have lost three days of the fall 2012 semester, and that will require some adjustment. Cancellation of Fall Break will allow faculty and students to make up the loss of two class days. A Saturday will be designated to make up the loss of the third class day. That Saturday will be determined in the near future.

It'll be October 27, I don't know why they don't just say so in the email.

rumor from lsu is the saturday make-up day will be Nov. 3rd.

Not in college, actually. Work full time as a teacher and working on another graduate degree at night. Also supporting a family. Nothing like undergrad. Nice try though.

I agree. Professors won't want to spend part of their weekend in class any more than the students will.

I definitely will not be attending class on OCT 27th, during LSU's only bye week I will be deer hunting in Natchitoches on the opening weekend of gun season.

The Teachers Association[union] will NEVER do any extra work. They will not work on Saturday. This happened in the late 90's, remember ? Only about 15 or 20 people showed up. Never happen.
