All these coaches deserve a huge pay cut. Fotball coaching salaries are out of touch with reality.

Miles finished, at best, 5th in the SEC last year. So he's being paid exactly what he deserves this year.
Start finishing in the top 5 in the country again a couple of times in the next two to three years, I'll agree that a raise is warranted

The fact of the matter is LSU is NOT paying for championships, like so many on this board and IRL keep asserting
Really? Isn't our coaching staff, combined, in the top 2 or 3 highest paid in the country?

You are surely not breathing air.

Miles is lucky I wasn't the AD last year when he started flirting with the Arkansas job in order to get another contract extension/ raise. I would have asked him "what more he wanted from the LSU family who has been so loyal to him on national TV and then asked him to be a man of his word by fulfilling his contractual obligations".
I know coaches flirt with other schools in order to get contracts extensions/ raises all the time. But, I would love for an AD to pull a coaches pants down for using this tactic against me if I were in an ADs shoes.

It's hard trying to read that. Also I'm all for a raise but he's gotta bring some hardware home or at least make the playoffs

Miles forgave more pay for retaining his buyout. So because his bouyout is soo high, hee guaranteed himself more years. Which is why Alleva should be gone. LSU should be able to fire a Coach if they want to. His buyout has saved him multiple times since he has been at LSU. Also, he is allowed the highest paid staff in the conference.
So no he doesn't deserve a raise. Remove the rent-a-wins, he is record isn't that great.

I'm sorry, if you're such a man of integrity, tell your agent to stfu.

Yep. I support his raise if he brings home a natty. Only way. He's been under achieving.

i would have called his arse out on it as well, no way he was going to move to Arkansas...and he got a bonus for appearing in the title game, Miles's coaching blunders has warranted him to keep the same salary...he wants a stable pay raise? show me you can win the west consistently...other than that there is one guy that deserves his money...NS

How about we win at the minimum another SEC title or play for another NC before we start talking about a raise.

Miles needs to Shut up and Coach ... I feel he's getting alittle to complacent.

Miles didn't have a problem with the money when he signed his contract. He's had like three money bumps already. He should suck it up and honor his contract.

This could win the most downvotes award of the year and it's only January.

Saban is on a two game losing streak while Miles is on a 3 game winning streak plus getting the #1 recruit in the country as well as the #1 MLB, as well a top ranked safety in Jamal Adams.
Totally understand your point and agree to an extent, but if we drop games like we did this year against Ole Miss and blow a close one like UG, it's all for naught.
Always excited to see LSU make bowl games and have 10 win seasons. Nothing to complain about. However, I also know the culture of this team, it's aspirations and the asinine level of talent we are constantly bringing in. 90% of the country would kill for consistent 10 win seasons, but with everything we have here at LSU, I would expect more BCS (not anymore obviously) and title appearances.
Never a bad thing when your coach is winning 10 games per season and you think he's underachieving.
