I can agree with this. Les knew what he was doing today. Like Moscona said this week. You don't want the situation with jj festering. You go ahead and play him, get the booing out of the way before we get serious with games coming up.

Jj is going to part of the year and I think we will need what he can do running 11 on 11 and moving the chains the year.

By all accounts jj has kinda been screwed over pretty bad for a bar fight with 20 people involved. He payes his due, had his position taken, and the team loves him.

You go ahead and play him where he gets booed and scores a td. This gets the team behind miles because in thier eyes jj was wronged. The fans get booing out of the way.

It's time to move forward with #1 ranking and realize that we will need jj to play in order to win. We need both to win and at least the opponents have no idea what the hell to study for.

Why is it people keep saying "we will need JJ to win in the future"

We haven't needed him so far, teams win games all the time with just 1 QB in the game.

We have an excellent running game, and a good passing game, those two when they are balanced make for a very potent offense.

It hurts you doesn't it Eric? I mean you are seething that he's back aren't you? You are steaming that he contributed to the win aren't you?

no what hurts is how I have seen in the past how rotating QBs can kill drives.

I just think you should go with the hot hand. Im sorry if it hurts your feelings that I dont think Jefferson is needed. We have a stable of backs to just plug in, there is no need for a running qb as a change of pace.

we have a qb who has been slinging it around and looks good doing. why kill a drive by switching stuff up.

NOTE: i am not saying i dont want jefferson back on the team, because a backup is necessary in the event of injury, but if you have no injury there really is no reason to rotate QBs.

ive said it many times florida 06 is an exception to the rule and not the rule.

teams have won with 1 qb for years and years.

we didnt need to rotate perrilloux in to win the title in 07, but we did need him as a backup. NOTE I SAID BACKUP, not a Spell QB. we win the same games in 07 without rotating perrilloux.

i know someone is gonna say "what about the sec championship?" im not saying we dont need a backup, im saying we dont need 2 qb system as change of pace.

let jefferson play at the end of games when its out of hand to stay fresh, but dont put him in when Lee is leading us to victory.

Miles also knew that Lee needed to get accustomed to this when we were playing an opponent we would beat either way.

Some reports indicate Lee suggested the move when JJ was first inserted.

Miles knew that whenever JJ entered the game, whenever that might be, that the crowd would boo.
He knew that most would boo Miles and many would boo JJ.

He knew that this game was NOT on national TV and that the biggest recruits would NOT be at this game.

Miles also knew that Lee needed to get accustomed to this when we were playing an opponent we would beat either way.

He knew that we would need both Lee and JJ to win all of our games.

Miles even knew that some on the team would have issue with the fans, but that with the FLA-Bama game and the FLA game next week, he could let them get it out of their system before all the attention went to the FLA game early next week.

Miles also knew that playing his 3rd and 4th string TB's most of the game would take a lot of film out of the path of FLA's prep for LSU.

Miles knew all of this.

He wanted to get this shite out of the way with all the limelight on the FLA-Bama, CLemson-VaTech and Neb-Wisky games...

Miles is the DaVinci of football. He paints works of art that are way ahead of its time, and waits for everyone to catch up to his forethought and wisdom. Like most genuis's, normal folk like rantsers cannot understand it - until the season and a 14-0 record unveils the wisdom after the fact.
For someone who knows jack shite about what Les Miles knows, you sure do think you know something don't you?

My thought on why they will need to play JJ is that the passing game has got it done in the past four games but in my opion has shown some signs of weakness. Lots of dropped balls and JL has looked great but was shaky today and his receivers did not help catch the high balls.

For the next games if the passing game is clicking then JJ is the backup no question and does not play.

However if we need to grind out some drives against Florida and Alabama then we need JJ for the option play. The option play is 11 on 11 football if done correctly. You pick up 3 to 4 yards regualry and if you beat one man then you have some space for the RB to run on the outside. This all assumes that JJ has gotten better at running the option.

If the passing game is clicking then JL is the man and I will scream and yell if he is pulled. But I sure dont mind JJ running some to open up more space for the RB's in the next few weeks.

I am glad he played and he won't be back next year. I will root for him this year, but I am ready for the 2 headed monster at QB to go.

Yeah worse case for me would to had the redshirt thing drag out. For fours years neither one of these guys have beat each other out and we have won with both of them.

I'm just glad the debate will be over next year.

How dare you question the wisdom of ALL THESE SUCCESSFUL NCAA Football head coaches that post on the Rant?!?

Or at least they must think they are. Idiots.

I agree with your post 100%.

As for those of us that realize we don't know it all, we'll just have to suffer these fools.

The game was not carried by ABC, it might have been on your local ABC affiliate, but not nation wide. It was a broadcast of SEC network that lines up various affilates in market interested in the game. For example, where I live, the game was shown on the FOX affialte

It was not on directv without the addition of packages. Here in Texas I had to watch on ESPN3.

So it was a good idea to get some of the booing over before a national broadcast and a main focus on ESPN's front page.

Les has said many times he sees a place for JJ to play in addition to JL. Les can be hardheaded so I gotta believe he is going to force JJ on the field. Hopefully its in the right plays and confuses the defense.

I find this to be the stupidest poster ever. the game of football is about knowing you will suffer injuries and being prepared to deal with that eventuality. jstfu.
