re: Post surgery: The makings of a cool scar.. - doliss
i could be wrong but that looks like a really crappy stitching job
Agreed, the sides are approximated well but they are pulled way too tight. Probably done by a lazy surgeon or a student...

re: So I may have a new hobby. - doliss
I've always found that keeping and even amount of moisture in the leather makes for more even stamping when doing a large area like that with a small pattern. Looks good though! I loved doing this many years ago, maybe I should go back to my parents house and find all my leatherworking supplies....

re: CONFIRMED: Glock 43 (SS9) in Full Production Will Be Revealed at NRA on 04/10/15 - doliss
Still rumors till I actually see something from glock themselves. Has been nothing but speculation for a year almost, since they released the g42. I would like to see it though, 9mm is much cheaper than .380. I do love my g42 though...

re: is it legal to have gun in car on the seat? - doliss
I have a respect for what cops do on a daily basis. I volunteer with a local EMS agency where I live and find myself shoulder to shoulder with officers almost every shift. It's a personal preference that I would want if I was in the officer's situation. I offer that respect to them and it is we...

re: is it legal to have gun in car on the seat? - doliss
Not exactly sure how it's done back home, but I got that info here from a friend who is on the force here in Loudoun Co. Edited to add: I know it also shows up as additional info on your drivers license, last DOA ems call i ran I noticed the cad notes listed me as having a CHP when the officer on...

re: is it legal to have gun in car on the seat? - doliss
The only time you have to tell a cop about a gun is if you have the gun concealed on yourself and have a cc permit.
That also varies by state. In Virginia I don't ever have to tell an officer i am carrying. If i were to get pulled over and was carrying at the time, i only have to...

re: XDS .45 3.3 CC options - doliss
I use an aliengear 2.0 for IWB glock 42, extremely comfortable and hardly notice it there. I also use an aliengear original IWB for my glock 23, while not as soft as the 2.0 version, I would get the newer version but I find myself with the g42 more as my EDC. When it's colder and I can CC OWB I us...

Just shoot left handed. Problem solved  I actually run into the same problem on occasion when I shoot offhand, throws me off since I normally don't worry about the slide stop lever...

re: Looking for some of basic gun care and scope advice - doliss
If your scope crosshairs are not straight up and down/flat horizontal then just loosen the top of the rings around the scope, rotate the scope a bit to line up your crosshairs, and tighten in place. ...

re: First visit to the pistol range in 2 years - doliss
Alot of this can depend on what you want the pistol for. If it's home/personal defense than you're talking close quarters and short distances. With that in mind the point and shoot at close distance is very fast and can be practiced without aiming...

re: First visit to the pistol range in 2 years - doliss
I typically run silencers with my kit when I operate. I keep clips in my tac vest for dynamic tactical reloads. Often I keep torches on my assault gun when doing night time ops. Vertical hand grips are also needed to ensure proper weapon manipulation while driving the rifle. On occasion we pr...
People love to get butt hurt over calling them a clip, although everyone knows what they are talking about, kind of like calling wells rigs, sodas cokes
Except people don't say they want tea when they actually want coke because they are two different things. Brand name of a gener...
The YouTube channel that really opened my eyes was ShootingTheBull410. He is the only guy I've seen that consistently tests hollow points from short barrels since that is what most of us civilians will be doing.
Love this guy's data, does very good research and presents it wel...
